FPS Lock? at 60 FPS?

(bubblesKeyboard) #1

Is there an fps lock in game? I ran the game at 60 fps and then I started using @LuLNope minecraft quality config and its still at 60 fps

(god1) #2

You have Vsync on.

(bubblesKeyboard) #3

Thank you man but it still seems to cap

(bubblesKeyboard) #4

Do you have to restart the game after you turn Vsync off? Everytime I restart the game it turns back on.

(Ribero) #5

Is it set to cap at 60 in the config at:

Documents\My Games\UnrealEngine3\ShooterGame\Config\ShooterEngine

?

(bubblesKeyboard) #6

it says smoothedframerate60

(Ribero) #7

I’ve no clue about these things, all I know is I changed some numbers around in there to cap my FPS.

Try making sure that it’s:
bSmoothFrameRate=TRUE
MinSmoothedFrameRate=5/22

And then bump this line up to 120 or whatever it is you’re gunning for?

MaxSmoothedFrameRate=120

Note that all those lines show up twice, I think one is for Menu and one is for ingame.

(bubblesKeyboard) #8

I changed this to 200 and I changed it to usevsync=false and set it as read only but in game vsync is still on and the cap is still 60

(Ribero) #9

No idea then, sorry. This isn’t anything I usually fiddle with.

(appreciativeBuster) #10

Put “read-only” back on after changing things in your shooterengine.ini file

I reload my config everytime (overwrite) just in case XD

(bubblesKeyboard) #11

it is on read only

(Humbug) #12

bSmoothFrameRate=TRUE
MinSmoothedFrameRate=5/22
MaxSmoothedFrameRate=120

those lines are in the config twice! no idea why though xD
maybe you changed the wrong ones

(Amerika) #13

You most likely have Vsync turned on in your video driver which is overriding the game regardless of settings. The game is most definitely not capped.

Go into your Nvidia or AMD control panel and make sure that Vsync isn’t on for Dirty Bomb or in general. If you have Nvidia it should be set to application control.

(bubblesKeyboard) #14

what do you mean by application control?

(bubblesKeyboard) #15

@Amerika ty for your suggestion. I went in and I turned vsync to always off. However in game it’s still on some how. I also set everything to max performance, still capped at 60fps though :frowning:

(Nail) #16

set all files to read/write, change in game settings, that works

(bubblesKeyboard) #17

what is read/write?

(Szakalot) #18

what is read/write?
[/quote]

turn off ‘read only’ basically. set vsync on (so your cfg file gets modified) go back to cfg; change back anything the game changed automatically = profit

(bubblesKeyboard) #19

Alright… my shooterengine file correct?

(Nail) #20

do it in game not cfg, that way it gets saved to proper spots
