FPS Drops? Let us know your details!

(MissMurder) #1

I know several of you have done this already but if you could please get your DXDiag and submit it here

Submit a Request -> Gameplay Issue -> Other
Subject: FPS Drop

Please fill out the details and attach your DXDiag to it. All of the extra information will help us pinpoint the issue.

Thanks!

I’m having the EXACT same problem. It’s very strange. Runs perfectly for 5-10 minutes (sometimes a little longer) then gets incredibly choppy.

Framerate monitoring doesn’t show any significant loss in framerate either, it’s just…stuttering. Still showing 80+ fps for me.

thoughtfulGrouper: are you running SLI?

same

Oh seems like you just made a thread with the same problem i covered in my thread which i made 2 mins ago

Well i think, as far as i know, its a memory leak problem.

Which means that RAM doesnt get utilized properly anymore after a certain amount of gametime ? (Thats what i think it is so dont judge me if im wrong! )

Anyway. After 5-10mins of playing my fps starts to jump from my 120fps (cap) to 90ish and instantlly back up to 120. That repeats itself alot untill the round ends.

If the next match starts its all gone untill 5-10 later :frowning: pretty annoying.

My temperatures are fine. So its no throttling which could have caused that.

It’s more likely a buffer issue rather than a traditional memory leak. I thought the same thing but RAM and VRAM utilization is rock-steady.

Can people in this thread please confirm whether or not they are running SLI?

I have been able to resolve this issue by running Dirty Bomb in Single GPU mode, so I’m wondering if you all are running SLI as well.

(Poldy040) #7

I have the same issue!

Would you please post your Systems?

My:
CPU: FX 8370 boxed cooler (50°C under full load)
GPU: R9 285 Sapphire OC version (70°C under full load)
MB: AsRock 990FX extreme 4
8 gig Ram

I am wondering whether this issue is a AMD specific problem.
Has anyone this issue with an Intel CPU?

What i have tried to solve that issue:

Disabling the APM function in the BIOS. It is a energy saving option and could cause that the CPU frequency will be throttled.

Disabling the Thermal Throttling option in the BIOS as well.

Set the power control slider under the Overdrive section of Catalyst Control Center to +20%. This allows the GPU card a higher power consumption.

But nothing has helped…

My config:

CPU: Intel i5-4670k OC’d @4.4Ghz
GPU: SLI - MSI GTX 760 x2
MB: MSI Z87-GD65 Gaming Edition
RAM: 8GB (2x4GB) Kingston HyperX Black

So, it’s definitely not an AMD issue.

Is your CPU OC’d at all?

Again, I’ve been able to bypass the issue by disabling SLI, so not sure what’s up.

(Poldy040) #9

Ok, nice to know!
No components are OC’d!
Only a single Gfx card is working and therefore not possible to disable SLI!
What i have noticed is that the fps drops are only there when i am playing. If i am spectating the fps are constant at about 120 fps, but when i am playing they jump between 60 and 120 fps! That cause ugly lags! Really annoying… :frowning:

Try to disable Hypertheading at BIOS it’s a little better for me.

Can anyone give an update on this? Have they fixed it yet?

(Morty) #12

Same for me, nothing above helps. Game is unplayable for me at this state.

Could someone try something for me that is experiencing this issue.

Please have Steam opened and navigate to the following.

Steam > Settings > In-Game

Try unchecking “Enable the Steam Overlay while in-game” then press OK.

Try launching the game and see if this helps out at all.

Already tried but doesn’t help!

One Point for guys with an AMD FX83xx CPU:

This CPU is very current hungry and maybe some main boards couldn’t deliver enough current or let me say, not stable enough.
Check which kind of phase design your MB´s have. A 4+1 phase design is not enough for these CPUs and could result in overheating/throttling of the voltage regulators.

Reference: overclockers.com/forums/showthread.php/755834-AMD-FX-8370-quot-Vishera-quot-Unstable-Ghz-Frame-drops-in-games-Thermal-throttling

My MB has a V8+2 phase design with active cooling of the VRs.

So I am not affected by this issue, but the game still stutters after 5-10 min… :’(
