Sorry not kept up with 4 pages, I’m guessing pm_sprintfov “0” isn’t working online?
FOV while sprinting, jumping, etc.
@DA I believe it was mistakenly included in the netvar list, meaning no, it doesn’t work online (not tested myself yet)
The thing that bugs me most is that some SD devs had 150+ hours of Brink gameplay on Steam, sure not all 150 hours were spent in multiplayer but I have seen a lot of them playing on online servers. How can noone notice that bug? Is everybody at SD playing with 70fov? I can hardly imagine that.
Hoping for a quick fix!
150 hours testing something is nothing. That’s only 4 weeks of full-time testing (assuming a 40 hour work week). I am currently working on a project in the integration/test phase and we have over 4000 requirements narrowed down to ~2000 test cases and that doesn’t even scratch the surface of every possible scenario and configuration it could be used in. Granted, it might be a bit larger of a project than a video game, but Im not really sure.
Anyway, my point is that I have over 1750 hours testing (with 10+ others) a single project and things are missed all the time. It is not completely inconceivable that the FOV bug was somehow missed. Have you considered that it’s not affecting everyone? I was talking to someone last night and he said the toggle happens so fast he barely notices it. Others don’t get it at all.
this is still broken unreal last time i buy a game without waiting to see if fov is changeable. Should have known better dead space 2 was the same thing.
Hi all,
As you may have noticed, an update for Brink was released earlier today that addresses this issue.
You should use the new ‘ui_fov’ CVar that has replaced ‘g_fov’.
Sorry im completely new at using console stuff, is there a way that you could write up a step-by step write up on how to change the FOV?
All the recent changes in this thread has left me confused

Press Ctrl-Alt+Tilde (key under ESC), type “ui_fov X” (without quotation marks) where X is your desired FOV between 70-110.
