Found a bug...?

I posted awhile ago about ET forcing 16bit color and 16bit zbuffer depth on my nvidia card…

Well it turns out it accually runs the proper color depth selected, IF my desktop res is the same as what I have set in ET… 16bit or 32bit color desktop depth, either will let me toggle between 16bit and 32bit perfectly. But say if my desktop res is 1152x864, and ET is set for 800x600, it forces 16bit (even if desktop is 16-32bit, no difference), but if my desktop res is 800x600 it works perfectly fine (16bit or 32bit color desktop depth, doesn’t matter). Same thing with any res, 1280x1024 desktop and in ET, accually uses 32bit properly, even if desktop is set to 16bit color.

I’ve tryed 4 different sets of drivers and it happens the same way, I’ve tryed forcing everything 32bit with console commands, I’ve tryed using rivatuner to force 32bit texture depth… but it ONLY accually uses 32bit color if it’s the same width/height.

I want to run ET in 800x600 mode, but I won’t dare use 800x600 for desktop… This does not happen in Q3 or RTCW.

Anyone else have the same issue with their nvidia card?
