Um, ET is still ET even if it runs ETPro.
So you prefer Shrub? Fine, you can run it on all your servers, just as all other people who pay for servers can choose which mod (if any) they want to run.

That’s funny because only about half of the servers I just queried with players are ETPro. There’s a few Shrub servers and the rest are etmain :confused:

what? even with a few mods its still ET. its still made for a good reason, and im sure SD was smart enough to realize that some people were gonna mod it, but SD did a helluva lot more work compared to a competition mod (not saying bani didn’t work hard, just SD’s list of crap to do was a little bigger)

… at the end of the day most mods are there because it what the players from the original game want to actually play. Look at any decent multiplayer or single player fps for example. Quake 1 had QW and TF. Quake 3 had OSP and loads of different total conversions such as; Jailbreak, Urban Terror, Quake 3 Fortress. Half Life tbh is enough said when CS is mentioned… look where that went. Unreal Tourny has lots of small mods for competition play as well as UNF at one point too…

It just so happens that different people enjoy different aspects and features etc. :slight_smile:

Even say with ETPro they’ll still be a middle number of players probably thinking; “This is fun but if this was different and that was changed it could be better…”

It’s the mods that keep a game alive. Think HL or Q3 would be getting played so much after so many years if it wasnt for mods? There’s one vital thing you’re missing here… choice. You don’t have to play ETPro, it’s your choice. Filter all the shrub or VET servers to play on.

Domi, Salteh, NoSoup, Shrike all played Q3F for eQ
Myself for >9m< and eQ at some point.
Darkangel afaik tried it and a few others but I cant remember as such…
ildon and co from the ETF conversion are.

Obv as you probs knows the SD team were the ones who created Q3F as they were all QWTF’rs. (less 2/3 at the time)
