forced to spectate after class change

Everytime the player count reaches g_maxgameclients i’m experiencing this bug.

Test settings:
set g_maxgameclients 2
and 2 players on the server

I will completely forced to spectate if i switch to a new class per class-change-script. First idea, my script isn’t correct. But then people complain having the same with changing per limbo menu.
So i tested it with the settings above, having one pc always watching score-table (to check the status of the other player) and one changing classes per limbo. Every time i click on a new class the players goes spec, then when i press ‘ok’ he rejoins the team.

Anyone an idea?

This is no v1.02 bug. I had this also before patching, but no time to investigate the cause.

To test this locally, host a local server with “set g_maxgameclients 1” and switch classes with the following commands:

team b 1 3 // allied medic with mp40
team b 2 3 // allied engineer with mp40

No one experienced this bug or perhaps has a solution for it?

Obvious question: why are you using g_maxGameClients? Setting that will enable Tourney mode, which prevents players from switching teams and limits the maximum number of players in the game (i.e. not spectating). AFAIK, there is no reason to enable it on an OSP server (which has better ways of controlling team composition). Also, the eam command does not seem to cooperate well with Tourney mode.

I’d advise setting g_maxGameClients to “0” (the default setting).

I used g_maxGameClients to set up a server for 6on6 matches, where more than 12 clients can join but only 12 can play, the rest should only be allowed to spectate.
