For those of you who say the new burst rifles are "better"
Burst rifle from a mechanics standpoint is much worse at range than the full autos because I can tap fire a full auto but burst is always set on burst.

It might be better if I could swap fire modes but as it stands I don’t play any burst fire guns. I guess I don’t play shotgun either but that’s just because they suck past 10 meters.
except the damage difference. tap firing M4 will not give you as much damage as the burst of the burst rifle

OH! That’s where he’s getting that number. The delay between bursts already takes the delay between rounds into account. It’s not “(.07 x 3) + .26”. The last bullet in a burst is the end of the burst, you don’t count the delay after the burst because you’ve already shot three bullets there is no need to wait for another bullet. The correct formula would be “(.07 x 2) + .26”.
Ah, that alters my math a bit. I had thought the third bullet delay would not be included in the time between bursts. So if that’s the case then 139dps for the BR would be correct.

Yeah, op’s math if a burst goes shoot - delay - shoot - delay -shoot - delay - burst delay, Grave’s math is right if the third delay is included in the burst delay. Op is also averaging the dps over the entire magazine (so 10 burst and 9 delays) while grave is using 1 burst and 1 delay. Grave’s numbers/formula match up to what the wiki and SD seem to use, so I’m guessing that they are right.

Personally, I just wish burst fire rifles (and the dreiss) were more accurate. Harder to use in cqb but more accurate at range? Great. Harder to use in cqb but marginally better at range? More meh.

I can’t speak for the BR, but I play the Stark most out of all weapons out there and I think that gives me a bit of a ‘right to speak’.

Yes, I actually think the Stark is better now. It wasn’t in as bad a spot to begin with, although the rate at which the gun would seem out of control seemed a bit crazy.

You can one-burst a lot of classes at short-medium range now. At a bit longer range (say, Trainyard bombsite to MG nest) you’re lucky for one or two bullets to hit the target, but the third strays off far too much from the initial aiming point. It was like that before, but more so now, which is very unforgiving as you need to make each shot count.

I’d definitely appreciate it if they changed the spray pattern to be more reliable, though I fear it would become a semi-auto sniper that way. Not that I mind.

Word of God on BR-16 DPS.

This of course assumes perfect burst control (refiring after a burst delay). Then again, you need to stop firing to regain accuracy on an M4A1 too.
