Flight Ceiling

How do you change the flight ceiling in the SDK? The default seems to be about 60 and I need more :oppressor:

In worldspawn: http://wiki.splashdamage.com/index.php/Entity_worldspawn

You still mapping?

Hehe, yeah, although I haven’t touched “Techbuster” in a while. The geometry is all there. Just needs the technical stuff to make it work.

This week I’ve been working on a different project I’ve had in mind for a while, but first some skyboxes! Why not dump here?

Front, back and top, although it’s difficult to show the entire thing in pictures. It’s actually made from some random picture I found on google. It turned out half-decent after I manipulated it to tile properly, but the source image really should be wider. Looks better in-game though, I swear

Front, back, top, tiles perfectly in every way.

Here’s a different sky + terrain test, but more on that later

Looking nice! And funny you posted those now, was discussing etqw custom skyboxes with Chris yesterday

btw, you mention front, back and top, so sorry for asking but did you make this with the etqw skybox generator, or is it the cubic type that we had in ET? If the latter, you should check out this page for QW style boxes:

I tried to make one long ago, never used it but it was quite fascinating to see it in-game (please ignore wrong sun position and rotten terrain model):

Those are the QW style boxes. I say top because I meant to show the top which is where the image gets wrapped in a circular way. It sometimes turns out ugly depending on the image you are using.

That’s a nice one. Why didn’t you use it? I have wondered why I don’t see any custom skyboxes in custom maps…

Ah good, just had to ask  And yeah it’s hard to show their beauty out of game.

The one I made was mostly to try it out, and the source image wasn’t ideal - impossible to get the edges tiling seamlessly as I remember it, was just a random panorama pic taken by a friend on some beach in Portugal.

I’m not sure why so few have tried it, maybe related to the lack of custom terrain/megatexture maps in general. For my arctic map, I started to think about making some kind of aurora skybox instead - some combination of a cool sky with som slowly moving auroras. But never figured out if it was possible or not, and forgot all about it

But the idea, was to recreate something like this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VVWSNHdkOZw

Nice shots!

Last one, the GDF on the terrain, is incredable!
