Here’s beta 2 of my Flak Cannon map. The objectives work now so you can have a ‘real’ game.

Here’s the changlog.

  • Fixed: Floating objects.

  • Fixed: Cargo net now walkable.

  • Fixed: Small Wall raised to prevent Allies from jumping it.

  • Fixed: Backward texture.

  • Fixed: Road clipping with underlying texture.

  • Fixed: Grass fading increased to stop drastic stop.

  • Fixed: MG42 (2nd story) now has more space to fire.

  • Fixed: Lowered the amount of team doors. Now there is only 1.

  • Fixed: Building flak/ammo gate doesn’t kill you. (If it still does this with the Flak tell me)

  • Fixed: Missing tree stump. (Will add it to the .pk3)

  • NotFixed: A bunch of very small things. (will get fixed)

  • NotFixed: the glass that breaks. (Still need to hit the frame to break it)

  • NotFixed: Light bulbs on hanging ceiling lights.

  • NotFixed: Index Map (need to make the road not have grass growing on it, etc.)

  • NotFixed: Still need to get a functional command post.

  • New/Changed: removed some doors to spawn areas.

  • New/Changed: Ammo gate now outdoors in the back.

  • New/Changed: Redid the outdoor area in the back.

  • New/Changed: New corridor to the ammo supplies.

  • New/Changed: Objectives work now. (You can now win/lose the game)

  • New/Changed: Added working objective data file.

  • New/Changed: New command map (new style, let me know if this works well for you)

  • New/Changed: Added details to the Main Gate. (Still not able to battle inside it, meant to be like that.)

  • New: a bunch of other tweaks etc.

There’s still some minor errors that will be addressed later on but I’d like to know your comments playing on a map that works.

I’m looking for

  • Gameplay problems.
  • Team balancing issues.
  • Overall feal of the map.
  • Ideas for better gameplay possibilities.
  • Flow.
  • Suggestions.

Much nicer…gotta see how it plays though. I’m sure our server admin will put this on one of our ]eVe[ servers a bit later. Very nice map =)

its hard to see on the forums but if you up the brightness there is definentlya missing texture in that corner.

There’s a error with the script, the flak cannon doesn’t do anything (Allies can win even if it’s repaired).

I’m working on a fix for this, should be done sometime today…(if all goes well)

Looking real smooth!

To bad the foliage is placed randomly now :< (i know its done this way in the shader file)
Dunno if this can be fixed by adding it to one texture of the terrain, but not the other texture

Okay, I got the objectives to work correctly (with some help of sock) so here is the required file (small) to make it work.

Required: Script Fix (2k)
–Extract the .pk3 to your etmain directory–

Summary of 2 main objectives:

Allies must destroy:

  1. The ammo spply
  2. the flak cannon

Axis must defend:

  1. the ammo supply (keep it from beeing destroyed)
  2. the flak cannon (keep it repaired)

Once the Ammo supply is destroyed the flak cannon becomes the last objective.
if the Ammo Supply is destroyed and the Flak Cannon is also destroyed the Allies win, this is why it’s important to have the flak cannon always built and to defend the ammo supply.

Hope this is clear enough, some people don’t get why they should repair the flak cannon, now the objectives works you’ll see why.

I did a fast solo test and i’ve noticed :

  • Is it normal that after the main entrance is detroyed, Axis can recapture the flag ? I will try to test that in a public server

  • Sometimes, i drop a dynamite very near the cannon. There is no sound ( “dynamite planted near…”) and the cannon is not destroyed ! but if i disarm this dynamite i’ve the message “Dynamite disarmed” ?

  • I’m often killed when i repair the cannon

Thanks for the images, I will look into it for the next release.

I updated my first post with a fixed .zip (all files included).
I also had to put them by fileplanet, sorry.

Also you may want to consider submitting this map to www.rtcwfiles.com …because fileplanet sucks arse.

Nur für meinen Geschmack zuviel Vegetation…

Ja ich mein ja nur dass es hier recht schwierig ist die Gegner zu sehn.
Va Axis mit den dunklen Uniformen… Vor allem nervig bei diesem einen Busch vorm Ammo Depot… Hocken zwei hinter dir und du siehst nix…
