I have been getting this message when ET crashes more and more as time goes by. I would say it’s about 1 out of 5 times I try to join any game. The “sticky” fix for ATI cards on the General Discussion page applies only to ATI 9500 series cards and above. I have an NVIDIA Quadro FX 500 card with latest drivers. Anyone know of a fix for recurring bug? Is it even video card related?

Evidently it’s a global bug for ET to crash after downloading a new .pk3 file… it happens to me around 80% of the time. I use WINDOWS XP with an ATI RAEDON 9200.

I get it too, after downloads or on random times (usually within the first minutes of playing). After that when I launch it , I get “PB: OS exception notice”, and it crashes again. After waiting for a couple of minutes it works again.
ET has never run 100% stable for me but I learned to live with it :bored:
