First Unlocks

(AnonyBOSS) #1

Hey all. Just wanted to check with the community: IYHO, what are your top 3 mercs to unlock first?

(nokiII) #2

Vasilli, Phantom, Thunder

(solace_) #3

proxy is a good choice because she is a) cheaper than the others b) an engineer which is useful to have and c) strong in general.

if you prefer more of a standard soldier fragger is easily the best of the lot with a strong weapon, ability, and good amount of health and speed.

another really great merc is stoker although becuase you already have skyhammer there isn’t a lot of point when you first start the game.

other than that, redeye or vasilli are both good recons and nader is also a solid assault merc.

(reacti0N) #4

Fragger (most versatile assault merc), Proxy (lower skill floor than Fletcher), Sawbonez (all-round good medic).

Nader or Stoker are good choices as well.

I’d recommend getting an engineer first to round out your squad with your starting mercs; Proxy’s on rotation so you could try her out right now.

(AnonyBOSS) #5

already have proxy, first thing i bought XD. Probably will get fragger, already have 30k

Bushwhacker is really awesome as your first engineer. 110 hp, access to KEK-10, easy to use ability that shouldn’t give you bad habits, and he’s even played in competition along with Fletcher (who is harder to handle for a newbie). Bushwhacker is really reliable and newbie friendly. You can’t go wrong with him.

Thunder is the best assault for a newbie IMO, though he has one newbie unfriendly mechanic and a lot of people seem to consider him as a weak merc. Unlike Nader he shouldn’t give you bad habits (like being too much on your GL or triggering Martyrdom mindlessly), and he’s a bit easier to use than Fragger since he won’t require you to cook nades. One just have to remember to not look at his own concussion grenades. I don’t recommend Rhino, because a newbie won’t learn a lot with him.

Last merc I’d recommand is Phoenix or Sawbonez. Phoenix is slightly easier to use than Sawbonez IMO and allow a good self sustain that newbies should appreciate. Sawbonez is awesome too, cheaper and extremely used in competition. He’s not as self sustainable as Phoenix is but he can sustain the team better than Phoenix do, and has 10 more hp.

Honourable mention to Stoker by the way.

Hmm . I appreciate all the consideration, but FYI to everyone, I’m no newbie (anymore at least). I’m lvl 8 within 2 weeks and has ONE GOLD as of today due to a lucky stock Equipment Case XD.

(DirtyHarrier) #8

Still a newbie.

(SirMurder) #9

Luckily this game is not Pay To Win and gold cards dont actually make you better everything above bronze is just cosmetic

(MarsRover) #10

Nader, Bushwhacker, Sawbonez - those three, order depends on your playstyle preferences. The most versatile assault, an easy to use medic and engineer.

(darlingClaymore) #11

Fragger, Proxy, and if you don’t want to use aura, use sawbones. Easy to learn hard to master.

(RyePanda) #12

I think I personally did Arty, Bushwhacker, then Sparks. Not bad picks in my eyes.

(Szakalot) #13

would t recommendthunder over fragger @Eox . as a new player you generally wabt ease of use and power: thunder is not easybto use at all, and Mk46 also requires more learning than fragger weapons

(SereneFlight) #14

Bushwhacker/ Proxy - Both are fairly easy to use engineers (newb Fletchers are the worst… or the best depending on which side they’re on… okay not really, they’re the worst whetever side they’re on)

Fragger - Easy to use, lots of health and firepower. What else needs to be said?
Stoker ain’t bad choice either even tho molotov’s cooldown is pretty long but denying area from enemy is always nice… (until enemy gets rid of your flames with short cooldown explosives) … or throwing molotov in a small room/ tight corridor with lots of enemies in it >:] (+ of course, you can set up a candy store for guns which is always nice)
Nader… idk… I see too many Naders just hiding somewhere and shooting dem nades, wait for the cooldown and fire more.

Sawbonez/ Phoenix - Sawbonez is the most traditional medic out there… throw a med pack and close range revives… yup McBasic alright.
However, because his med packs heal over time instead of giving instant health (aside from direct hits) + sometimes your teammates go full Matrix mode when you try throwing med packs at them, Phoenix isn’t too bad choice his healing ability is easy to use and you don’t have to constantly scream in yer head “the med pack is right next to/ behind/ infront of you ffs!!!”.

(Eox) #15

That’s not how I felt when trying Fragger and Thunder. In my case, I use MK46 much better than K-121. I guess it’s subject to opinions.

(SereneFlight) #16

It’s definitely easier to use but I think his ability wouldn’t be something a lot of newbs would appreciate.

(BananaSlug) #17

fragger, sawbonez, bushwhacker is the rainbow team

(Your worst knifemare.) #18

I was going to do Sparks Kira Bushwhacker but instead it went Sparks Pheonix Bush (free pheonix week)

(Occult) #19

my first picks were proxy, arty and vassili (it was cb and i didnt know any better)

(AnonyBOSS) #20

Well, my load atm is Phoenix, Proxy, and an open slot for whatever I feel like. Sometime’s its Vas, maybe Arty, so on and so forth. But if I had to choose a permanent on for that slot, it’ll be Arty. Gotta love that Driess AR.
