I remember the good times when i had discovered this game and played ton of suicide proxy, then moved to sawbonez and hooked.
It really depends on personal preference and seems like not many players are about the medic job, but if you like to support offensively get Sawbonez or Phoenix ASAP.

For me Phantom was the first I bought, followed by Redeye and then Proxy when there was that discount sale.

Proxy, while not strong in competitive, absolutely teaches aim, good placement of mines and any other deployable really, and mobility. Also is cheap, an engineer, and can use shotguns.

Sawbonez for medic, since he’s solid, tanky, has pretty good weapon choice and speed, and very very well rounded overall.

Then either Fragger for CQC favouring kiddos, or Stoker for ammo giver lovers, or even Vassili if they really insist on being sniper shooty man.
