According to the Roadmap there is still something in the works? (it lists movement tweaks and ‘trick’ jumping pass - whatever that means)

I’ve still got my fingers crossed that we can expect something from SD on this front since all of their previous titles had some kind of cool movement system.
Well to be exactly fair in competative play you’ll still need a decent Lt. As you wont be able to freely pick up anyones weapon as you doing so will probably getting you killed. Which is probably even harder in public depending on the amount of people in the server. But anyway you’ll get my point I hope.
Besides last time I checked they’re also still capable of pin pointing an airstrike which still makes it a viable and needed class in order to destroy for example an APC which needs to be extracted to a certain point.
You’ll still need the class, even with dead bodies dropping weapons in all fairness. And with the medics not healing instantly anymore it might still be a viable option. At least it’s something i’ m missing in this game. Can’t be the only one?

W:Et had no recoil. L4D2 has no recoil. I’m sure other FPSs have no recoil. With all the spread, TTK, ROF, etc conversations can we get some love for NO RECOIL. I’ve tried to enjoy DB but the recoil is a game ender for me. It just takes the fun out of the game. Mess with everything else to bring some skill into the game but get rid of recoil, it’s just a pain in the ass to enjoy.

&viruzz - Originally players dropped an ammo pack (rather than gun) when they died, so everyone played Medic because they could heal themselves AND refill their clip after every kill.
Ammo drop was removed to curb this behaviour and it’s been the saving grace of DB IMO, we’ve finally broken the curse of the rambo Medic and now other classes are being played a lot more.
Unfortunately it’s gone a bit too far, IMO, as the med-pack has also become a regen pack that only works when you’re not taking damage (in other words to stop Medics packing during fire-fights). Add to that the fact the Medic’s SMG is not as good as everyone else’s primary weapon and the Medic has actually been triple nerfed, to the extent they’re a bit too thin on the ground nowadays.
@-com-pain - yes, there’s some recoil, but on a scale of 1 - 10 it’s about 0.0000005, nothing that can’t be dealt with easily IMO. Try playing DOD, RO2, ARMA etc. to understand what real recoil is.

ET certainly has recoil on pistols and sniper gun and some others too. While DB has many more guns, I expect some of them to also have almost 0 recoil - yet I also guess it should be weaker or any other way to balance it.

True dat, the recoil in W:ET was indeed too low to even notice it. Though it an a huge flinch when being struck by bullets so it’s not like it was the easiest thing in the world.

Ty for your post, that explains some of the changes to me. Haven’t been in the scene for too long but this clears some things up.
W:ET did have huge amounts of view kick when you got hit though, why don’t people keep asking us to add that back in? 
To be fair with you I would love to just have an ET replica with these up-2-date ghrapics. Go for it!

Can you just turn them off? I don’t mind having them on other players so I can see where shots are coming from but having it on your own gun is annoying.
Hello everyone. I’ve got my key last Friday, played a bit and I have to say the game is very playable for an alpha. Here are some of my impressions so far.

“WTF I cant hit sh**”. Yep… aiming in this game feels really weird (especially in duels). I dont know if its some kind of mouse input problem combined with fast strafing movement but in many cases I couldnt track my opponents properly. I consider myself a decent aimer and i havent ever got that kind of problem in other games. I got used to it after few hours and Im not that bad right now, but it still feels weird to me.

Characters animations are very… SDish
I thought engine switch would change that but clearly I was wrong. Jump, strafe, reviving and death animations look weird and they looked that way for me since ETQW. I would like to see some smooth animations like last Battlefields with a variety of predefined cool death animations. -
Maps are quite good, but London Bridge takes way too long to finish. The lift stage on White Chapel is also too long plus the last objective is very hard to do. Overall, maps need a little tweaking and balancing.

The idea behind each class function is quite good even right now. Maybe sniper needs some improvements, because his only function is sniping, which is not that powerful considering small maps and efectiveness of onther guns at long range.

We need spawn timer and proper spawn waves. The whole spawn system is a mystery for me. Are there even spawn waves or everybody spawns separately? How does it work exactly?

I think we need better indication of being hit and how much we are being hit. It’s not clear enough right now.

I love the HUD, the only thing that needs to be improved is health bar…
Maybe it all sounds a little negative, but overall I enjoy playing Brink 2… ups, I mean Dirty Bomb
Still a lot to improve, but also a lot of time to do so,.I belive in you SD… even after Brink :). Keep up the good work.

hud stuff is being fixed dw. sniper is extremely powerful since it takes 2 body shots to kill and the damage for the standard rifle falls off dramatically
chapels final stage should be reworked its far to linear, 1 stuff up causes the defenders side to be camped in their spawn and the lemming rush begins
Try Options -> Game -> One Frame Interval = Off, if you haven’t already.
Objective mode has staggered spawns, stopwatch has spawn waves, kind of. The servers marked “casual” are objective, the “veteran” are stopwatch.

I believe you can turn one frame interval off from the in game menu now

Huh… there is barely any recoil. I think its good where its at. I thought at first there was too little but now I think its just about right. ADS also removes like half the recoil or something as well to help out for long range combat btw.
