Fire rate!

(Nikon) #1

Congratulations Splash Damage, u have removed all the bugs… Ping is good, FPS is back to normal, no laggy anymore, voices are cool, models of humans too, grenades are back… This game will be cool, but it has one BIG BUG!! Fire rate! :(( One clip takes almost 5 sec to be fired. Its to slow :((

Its a shame, ET could be GREAT game, but its only another Battle field…

Back to RTCW.

(=MLK=FOO) #2

I for one like the fire rates makes for some very interesting gun battles. DONT CHANGE IT SD I LIKE IT

(Kendle) #3

Agreed, the slower rate of fire is what makes E.T. better than RTCW imho.

(Nikon) #4

Better for who?? For BF fans or for people who are slow and cant shoot?

([=O=]SMYLER) #5

No for those of us who aim and don’t run in blindly shootin’ shite outta everything including the walls it is much better the way it is.

(Vengeance) #6

I tottaly agree Fire Rate is much better now and it requires more skill to kill some1

([=O=]SMYLER) #7

What are you on about V man you’re shite

(Nikon) #8

Yep, u r right! U need more skill (luck) to hit someone! hehe

(Dingo19) #9

Fire rate is fine now that the player animations are smoother. Takes some getting used to, but in a few months, no one will remember the old way.

(Nikon) #10

Real fire rate of Thomson is 11.6 bullets per sec… In ET 6.5 bullets per sec… Its SLOW,SLOW,SLOW!!!

(Vengeance) #11

What are you on about V man you’re shite

im not surpised since i get 10fps or less on most maps, whats your excuse

([=O=]SMYLER) #12

I’m blind and have no hands, this is me looking (with my cold useless eyes) up :frowning: .

(bani) #13

advantage of slower fire rate is that it takes some less bandwidth and less server cpu. means less laggy games…

(RocketGrrl [SWE]) #14

Optimum real rate of fire was 11.6 bps but in practice it was 4.17 bps for the Thompson (3 bps for the MP40), dont twist the facts!

(Skin) #15

lol

I like the firerate at the moment as it seems to favour the people who can aim more now.

Nikon one thing you should never do in a game like wolf is use realism as an argument to get things changed.

Absolutely, in “real life” you can’t pump a full clip into someone only for one of their team-mates to come along, stick a tiny neddle into them, and bring them back to life…

In “real-life” a Panzer can’t run any quicker just because he’s holding his Pistol in his hand rather than his Panzer at the time.

In “real-life” a Field-Ops doesn’t run around with ammo packs that breed to make more packs as he dishes them out, or a Medic carry self-replicating Med packs that replace themselves as they are used.

The issue with rate of fire is that in RTCW firefights take no more than a couple of seconds and, given players of equal ability and equal health, it’s usually the guy who starts shooting first that wins. In E.T. it’s the guy with better aim that usually wins. A definate plus imo.

Well actual firing RPM vs Cyclic rate…

MP40:

The weapon is blowback operated and has a cyclic rate of fire of 500 rounds per minute, and a practical rate of 180 rounds per minute.

M1 Thompson:

The Tommy gun uses a gas blowback system but does incorporate a delay device to keep the bolt from opening until the gas pressure in the barrel had dropped. It’s cyclic rate was 700 rounds per minute, and a practical rate of 250 rounds per minute.

Important notes:

Cyclic rate is how many times the firing mechanism can cycle per minute.
Practical fire rates are averages that trained soldiers can fire.

There are ceilings to this:

  1. Aiming will degrade to useless very quickly (duh).
  2. The materials used in manufacture can breakdown if pushed too hard (i.e. barrels get red hot, warp, et. al.).

Lmao, that was funny

Yes, this is true. In order for someone to kill another, he must now keep his crosshairs on that person much longer. This gives players who actually have SKILL an advantage. Since i can pretty much keep my crosshairs on someone indefinately, this is a huge + imo  :drink:
