ok, i’m sure you guys are gettin sick of me posting about the subject, lmao. but, i have finally gotten the server, figured out how to get everything running, and i’ve even gotten ET to run silently as a server that will automatically restart, whew.
i’m to the point where i want to know how to “install” et on the server through the command line. i am thinking (or maybe just hoping) i could just copy files over to the other machine and run it without actually installing it.
if this is the case, which files will i need to copy in order to make the server run? i really would like to avoid copying pack0.pk3 because it’s huge, and it seems to me that it’s all local things, like sounds and textures and stuff.
anyway, lemme know… i am tempted to try it as guess and check, but i don’t think that would be a good idea, lol. i could screw up the service, and that would be a pain to fix not being able to sit at the server.
