Few suggestions (seen as constructive criticism I hope) :)

I know its early days but so far its promising, just needs a bit of icing on the cake

-) Sounds of the MP40, Thompson, Knife need to be changed, at the moment it doesnt feel like firing a weapon at all. MG42 sound is really nice however. The MP40 in the original rtcw sounded very real and powerful when firing it.

-) Connecting to servers has changed, before you could type /connect x.x.x.x and it would continually try to connect to that server. ET tries to connect and then asks you if you want to try reconnecting with a dialog box. Especially annoying if many of the servers are full of players on release…

-) Intro animation still plays with cvar com_introplayed set to ā€œ1ā€

-) Most people have learnt many of the quick voice chat combinations in the original wolf. Quite a few of the quick voice chat combinations have been changed, so I cant see many people wanting to learn the new combinations. I also think Splash Damage should increase the loudness of the voice chat .wav files, while playing the game its quite hard to hear some of them.

-) The position of the Refresh List button on the Play Online screen should be swapped with the Disable Punkbuster button. i.e moved to the bottom right of the screen just above join server, because Im awkward :).

-) I also cant quite put my finger on it, but when players die the animation seems different to the original rtcw.

-) Seems slightly laggier than the original rtcw. Maybe due to a lower FPS, on my pc it can go down to 25fps (1ghz/gf3) :(. Im sure once we mastered out configs the fps should be a little better!

On a positive note

+) The MG42 is much better
+) The graphics are nice
+) Crosshairs/blood/complaint popup are like OSP so I hope a new patch comes out for Wolf which adds those features
+) Prone position is a nice addition to the game
+) New weapons are nice, perhaps the mortar could do with some better physics code. I think the mines were implemented very well.
+) Statistics screen at the end is very sweet
+) Replays are much better \o/
+) More maps to come
+) Its free!

Hopefully its seen as constructive criticism :drink:

Just found another strange quirk, or bug whichever you choose to categorise it into

-) Go to ingame server browser, sort by ping, click on server info and when you click on ā€˜back’ the servers are listed in reverse order. i.e lowest ping used to be at the top but now the highest ping is now displayed at the top and lowest at the bottom.

I concur.

Voice chat combinations will be more like standard wolf in the final game. The actual wavs are attracting a lot of criticism (not all bad, it has to be said), but I don’t think there’s a firm decision on that atm.

Agreed. The voices are one of the things I don’t care for (compared to the original).

Another bug I found which Ive emailed to etbugs@idsoftware.com

In my search for improving FPS I tried setting r_compressmodels 1, this cvar consistently crashes et.exe so if some wolf players have transferred their configs over to ET with this cvar set to ā€œ1ā€ then ET will crash as soon as the execute their config or load et.exe

You could always ask www.tsncentral.com Warwitch to do some voices if hes willing to do it. I believe he did some of the voices for OSP. He has an interesting Axis/Allies accent. He does a lot of the shoutcast commentary for RTCW matches

WarWitch would rock for the voices - Plus he would jump at the oppurtunity and prolly PAY you to be allowed to do them…

He is the original rtcw PIMPMASTER.

I would also like to see the extra commands added to the v-command list.
