Hi, I’m currently doing some ‘pre-work’ for an ET:QW mod. I mainly want to try and get my assets and codebase ready ahead of time so when the Game/SDK launches It’ll be an easy switch. The one area that isn’t so straightforward to prepare for is Animating Players/Weapons.
Q1- Long story short I’ve read rumours/grumling/etc that there will no longer be a ‘view_weapon’ model but just a more ‘global’ set of animations. Is this true, or should any weapons I model stick to the old fashioned view/world models?
Q2-(a) Do you use the same bone naming convention as Doom3 for Characters? If not, would it be possible to get a list of bone names for basic humna character models?
(b) Ditto but for weapon models
Q3- WHy are you reading the forums when you should be chained to a desk building ET:QW?!?! Does your supervisor know about this? lol, jk.
