Hi all,

There are a few comments and suggestions i’d like to post :

VOICE COMMANDS

  • Better Voice commands : need more mnemotechnic ways to remember codes. As in Smite for example : VGS V=Voice, G=General S=Sorry
VGS is easier to remember than a V45.
  • Voice Commands shortcuts should also be displayed when someone use one : Name [VGS]: Sorry. This way we can learn them from others.

INTERFACE

  • Ergonomy is still not perfect. Menus are too slow. lots of unnecessary screens
  • When hovering over XP, need info on XP need to next level
  • Drag and drop Loadout Cards in lobby to change their order
  • Loading screen : next tip pressing a key or mouse button
  • Deploying on a map when first logging to a ongoing game onto a server or starting a new map is too slow
    • possibility to see stats of all players at the end of games, not just their own.

GAMEPLAY

  • Repairing : Merc with Mechanic augment should have priority over one that does not have it.
  • Long jump too hard to achieve.
  • More stats about players : We need Game Mode XP, Combat XP, Support XP. It is much more relevant than just K/D.
  • The tutorial is way too basic. it should teach long jump and tricks, etc…

SERVERS

  • Ghost players still there.
  • More filter options would be great : by level, region, number of players etc…
  • We need high level public servers
  • No info on server name once in game (impossible to tell someone that is not in your friend list where to join you)
  • no auto reconnect to last server or at least a history

SKINS

  • We need better skins, well not skins and recolors but different models. Some current models mostly lack personality to me : Arty, Skyhammer, Fragger.
  • Skins should be independent from loadouts.

GRAPHICS
I think more graphical options (more lower settings) should be added to allow more payers to play comfortably.

MAPS
most maps have unnecessary details. The game is so fast you don’t see them actually so it would better not adding those details and use these resources to make more maps. At least at the start. Details could be added later.

HUD
A HUD editor within the game would be great. Placement and size. Options to disable some information (example : minimap).

LOADOUT SYSTEM
Many think that augments and weapons should be independent but I don’t agree. Augments and weapons (primary, secondary) are the way to balance cards. If you make them all independent veteran players will have a huge advantage over newbies and this game will be a lot more unbalanced. Having to make a choice over augments, and weapons is a good thing at least in such a loadout card system.
An alternative system would be to craft cards using only LC from the desired Merc. but to balance this, you could keep the augments and the weapons. Example you have an iron LC with Get Up and Extra Supplies and SM72 then if you craft it with 3 iron Sawbonez and select the SM72 one, then you are sure to get the Bronze SM72 with Get Up and Extra Supplies.
That system would allow to have a limited control over crafting.

A lot of things you mentioned here are already in the game, others not yet, and I agree with those that aren’t in. Voice commands are already in the game, and Engineer mercs do go over the slower speeds, i.e. the faster speed is always prioritized.
Mainly HUD placement, that would be great.

I definitely could go with removing the minimap.

I know voice commands are in the game, that is why i said ‘better’ voice commands
A non engineer merc with the Mechanic augment is faster than a non engineer merc without mechanic yet it is not prioritized.

There’s nothing wrong with the voice commands in the game right now, honestly you only need “Ammo!” and “Medic!”. Everything else is annoying and useless, or I have yet to see a good reason to use it.

(PogS) #6

http://dirtybomb.gamepedia.com/Voice_System : V21 and V22
VRM and VRA would be easier to remember V, R for request, M for medic and V, R, A for Ammo.
My thought is that the system is hard to remember right now that is why few people use it. In Smite it is widely used.

(Ghosthree3) #7

M is so far out of the way man, bad idea. V21 and V22 are easy to press and easy to remember.

(PogS) #8

Easy to remember 2 combinations but there are 57 of them…

(Ghosthree3) #9

And like I said they don’t matter, at all, in fact I say remove them because they’re annoying.

(PogS) #10

AS long as they are useful to some players…

(NotaCobra) #11

The voice command set you gave seems like a pain to me, fumbling all over the keyboard just so it’s slightly easier to remember seems absurd to me.

I would like the option to bind certain voice commands to a key.

Being able to take an unused, but relatively close key, and bind it to “I need ammo” would be great.

(PogS) #12

Well it works well in smite. You never use that voice commands in the middle of a fight anyway… You use it under cover.

(NotaCobra) #13

ooooooh, you mean like typing?

yeah, I just type what I want to say.

Not to be rude, but voice commands on quick menus are useful BECAUSE they’re quick, the reason you don’t see the in game ones used often is because they’re fiddly.

Compare them to TF2, every voice command was 1 or 2 keystrokes tops, and always the same set of keys.

Far easier, far faster and far safer in a combat zone than trying to remember if asking for a medic is VCM or VMR or shit you needed to reload but you’re stuck in a voice menu.

Then you shout “The enemy is weakened” as your corpse hits the floor.

Splash has used vsays for 12 years, some of us are very used to them

(Nail) #16

I use those keys to play, as do most other people

@PogS you should think about this theory before publicly type that someone should press VGA for ammo since A is a default MOVE key so if i wanna MOVE while trying to get ammo is just retarded. v22 v21 is SO easy to remember
it doesnt change a bit does it?

v22 - Ammo
v21 - Medic
v54 - Hello
v55 - Good Bye
v56 - Good Shot
v51 - Yes!
v52 - No!
v53 - Thanks? I dunno about that.

You wont need much more than this. if u do so u have to look at the menu. or use the actual voice com for it.

And how do u think a MOBA is comparable to a fast paced shooter? As you said you will do the “QUICK CHAT” in cover in Smite… why the heck do i want to cry for ammo in cover when I have enough “time” to run to the next crate. in mobas you use ur mouse and QWER if i am not mistaken… in shooter WASDQE are the most important keys…

(Nail) #19

unfortunate how facts can interfere with a case of misplaced superiority and arrogance

(PogS) #20

@Coruscate You should take a look at Smite before publicly type my idea is retarded as Smite is not a typical moba but a 3D 3rd person moba where you move with AQSD as in shooters. And yet the system works. And i don’t think an Arena or Assault game is slower than a DB game.
I also think there are moments in DB where you can use vsays : while in limbo, just at the start of a wave, while in cover, etc…

Sorry, I proposed A cause as a French I use ZQSD and not AQSD. Reflex.

I use my middle fingers to use 123 keys and also this finger to use forward key so it’s not possible for me to move and vsays at the same time. Maybe you are more flexible or have more fingers

I really don’t think I can actually move efficiently and look at the tiny menu in top left of my screen. A larger menu on middle left would be better I think.

Well anyway that was general proposals, something to be refined. Not set in stone shortcuts. My point is to find more mnemotechnic ways and display shortucts to learn vsays from others.
My pointt is if you want to have good tactics on pub swhere ther is no mic you need more than a couple of shorcuts. thus easier to learn ones.
