This post isn’t about complaining over the map Favela, it’s more pointing out various things I’ve noticed.
I love Favela. It’s a great change up to the more expansive maps in the f2p arena and gives a lot of opportunity to enjoy playing against a squad that isn’t basically one big sniper rifle.
That being said, there are a few things that bug me. Having played Favela a ton, I’ve noticed that more often than not the upper hand tends to go to the player who just gets the first turn. What I’ve noticed from that, is that the player with the first move also gets the starting point with more options/more cover. For example the side gets the bus to hide behind where the other side gets a poorly placed plant a few squares from the choke point into the capture zone that only gives red cover. .
Basically, if the player with the first move moves up their soldiers to max, the other team is forced to move into an immediate defensive position well behind the choke point, where they are then subject to being pinned in their starting area because the other team can then move into the capture zone or set up and drop a deplorable cover in the choke.
I know people are going to think differently about how to handle that situation and someone will have their supposed “flawless” tactic to counteract this type of situation, but I don’t care. I just want to know what the community thinks about what Favela has to offer as the only real close quarters battlefield for people who aren’t paying for map bundles and expansions.
