Not sure why, but recently there has been a huge increase in the “OMG YOU ARE A HACKER. REPORTED…” accusations in public matches.
One thing that really bothered me during my time on CoD4 was getting banned from servers simply for doing well. Though annoying, CoD4 wasn’t that big of an issue because they were private clan servers. This meant that most of the time you could upload the demos from that game to their forums to prove your innocence. (Which brings up the importance of demos, hope they activate these soon!) However, we obviously have servers maintained by the devs. If someone is falsely banned (if this even occurs) how do they go about proving their innocence? So far all I can do is run OBS in the background but it is such a huge performance hit. Even with the “AMD VCE” GPU encoder it is difficult to play while it is running. (I have a good GPU and a terrible stock CPU)
My question to you guys is, how do you deal with these false accusations in-game? Normally I would just ignore it but I am not sure if it is the best idea in this case. Also, should I be worried that people have allegedly reported me simply for doing well? If at all, how common is it for people to be banned for false accusations? I am sure it is hard for the team to go through all of the reports and actually know if the accusations are factual, so I would not blame them if these slip-ups occur.
Not sure if anyone else has been experiencing this or if it is even an issue, but I figured i’d ask…
This is one of the best gaming communities I have seen and I am happy to be involved.
Thanks guys, much love.
