Fallen Comerades

(Shane) #1

I see people at war, shooting and shooting, and someone falls. There is a medic there, but he doesn’t want to run the distance of 20 feet, revive the person, and get bombarded by an air strike. So, the guy explodes. The two people next to him abandon him and are saved.

So, if those people next to him were medics, they would have saved him and ran. However, they weren’t. So, the problem is, nobody in real life would leave a fallen comerade in open firing range of the enemy.

Why can’t teammates grab the fallen and drag him out of harms way, so a medic can get to him easily? I’d say that would raise that…uh…thing that you get when you are smart on the battlefield…level profusely, and would be an assett of the team.

To make it better, if the dragging of the victim was a team effort, the dragging would be faster, so you’d get away from the fighting faster!

no, to hard to code… to much time to code

The only person that would even waste their time would be a med that had no needles. Right now I have a hard enough time getting a fieldop to play his class and give up some ammo, let alone drag someone out of harms way. Seems like all the fieldops care about is spamming them AS.

Its already in RTCW, The command “+salute” works as push, its taken from the single player kick except the graphics of the kick arent there. +salute on the dead also allows you to drag a body.

In RTCW using wasd to move, I have +salute bound to c. i.e. one of my most used keys. I shoulda spoke up sooner about the importance of it. It really comes into effect in the Larger servers when people are in your way or blocking, a quick kick in the a$$ and they are out of your way. I was hoping ET would have the graphic of the kick and damage from it.
+salute is available in the SHRUB mod. I believe “shove” works in bani to push.

Can’t be that hard, shrub already did it. If splash asked nicely, he’d probably even let them use the code :stuck_out_tongue:

I vote yes for drag/shove/salute.

That it has been done for RtCW means it should be able to be done for ET. I think that it will have limited usefullness for dragging bodies, but the ability to move doorblockers and the like would be very nice.

yeah, I voted yes, Would be surely really useful on Life servers, if the medics are low on lifes, people could move the body to safety so the medic don’t lose life and still can res.
