Failed pure server check?

I know this has been answered here b4 but i cant seem to find it. Anyway, what is the solution to this problem? I’m running Vista and I have downloaded and installed the game plus 2.60 patch. I tried the 2.60b patch but it doesn’t help. Any ideas? thnx

run et as admin.

I did run as Admin. Keeps saying the same thing. but thnx for the answer.

u sure did set “run as admin” in properties?
i dont mean playing with an admin account.

I see what u r talking about. now I just have to figure out how to change the game settings to my personal favs, like xp save, fast recharge and stuff. ty

do you want to make a server?
if so, choose a mod and refer to their wiki.
easiest way to get it going :slight_smile:

that’s precisely what I want to do. 8) Will it show up in the server list or do I have to invite friends to play? I made it public w/o password.

if u stream to the master servers (needs to be specified in the server.cfg) it it will show up in the server list (if its properly set up).
if u havent set them copy that in ur server.cfg:

set sv_master1 "etmaster.idsoftware.com"
set sv_master2 "master.gamespy.com:27900"
set sv_master3 "master0.gamespy.com"
set sv_master4 "clanservers.net"
set sv_master5 "master3.idsoftware.com"
set sv_master6 "wolfmaster.idsoftware.com"

One more thing, is there a site I can go to that could take me from extreme novice :? to expert :smiley: in customizing the game? From simple changes to making custom maps and such? ANY info would be greatly appreciated. I’m not computer illiterate but I’m not that savy with tech terms either.
