Quit posting so much crap on the forum. Its an ET forum, not ‘my PC is borked’ There are lots of Computer forums, register with one and try there.

Check the obivous stuff first - you know its spyware, goto Ad-remove programs and delete and unknown programs like ’ my toolbar’ and the like

Then go download Ad ware 6 and Spybot search and destroy. Run them and reboot

Then stop using IE and try firefox, its worth it.

i got that problem 2, for no reason i have 4 adress bars, 1 IE and the other 2 weird things i never heard of, my virus cheaker removed 2 of them and now theres is one called “fizzle” and another named “search” i cant get rid of them and fizzle keeps updating with news. also some gay spyware keeps changin my home page to some bent website and i get loads of popups, 1 of which i cant close, it has no “X” box, i have to ctrl, alt and delete. im gonna need to format :?

IE is public enemy number one for spyware nowadays, not from other programs.

i found out how to stop IE downloading this shit, Tools > internet options > advanced

scroll down and find 2 boxes labled Enable install on demand, turn both of these off, but since that only prevents spyware and i havnt a cllue how to get rid of the shit i have now, im screwed

i might re-format but i have loads of files i wana keep or im screwed :frowning:

get a virus scanner, get trojan / port scanner , get ad-aware…

( panda antivirus is pretty good, and u can try it for 30 days ), others should be relitavly easy to find…,

Also check ur msconfig…
go to start menu and then above the sign of thingy

I dunno the correct word in english -->
I think it is performe or run or something… In the box type “msconfig” then press ok…

Then go to the tab on the right… It should show the programs windows starts when u fire up windows…

U might wanna disable things u dont like or things u think are annoying…

{ i disabled alot of things… from nasty clients to normal stuff like msn }
Edit: { also saves ram, and makes windows fire up quicker…}

can i get favourites on firefox? i think i have bookmarks, that are like favourites on mozzila for linux but this one all it dose is open a tab

Firefox does import all your favorites, bookmarks and shit. I recently changed due to the newest IE exploit and havent looked back, I don’t miss IE at all.

As far as spyware:
Your browser has been hijacked and sometimes it is VERY difficult to get rid of.
Get
adaware http://www.lavasoftusa.com/
spybot search and destroy http://www.safer-networking.org/

Run them.

If this does not remove the problem there is a more advanced tool called
hijackThis http://www.spychecker.com/program/hijackthis.html

be very careful with the last one and do some research into Browser Helper Objects
http://www.google.com/search?q=browser+helper+objects&sourceid=firefox&start=0&start=0&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8

before you start ripping things out of IE.

This last method is what i used to get rid of my search bar.

FINALLY, when you are browsing the internet and are visiting some of those “non-standard” sites (read pr0n,w4r3z,che4tz ,etc ) , USE THE REALTIME FILE SCANNER included with you anti virus software. It will detect these hijack attemts.
