Yea I said this as well on TS tonight.

Although mine went something like “fricking sweet, I was doing obj when a guy started shooting me from far, I was able to do like a strafe jump 180 away and shoot back instead of dying like before, but without actually being able to strafe jump if you understand me”.

Yours was more eloquent…

jump-to-sprint: love it!

in terms of framerate/input lag/overall performance this version seems way more playable on my end.
Edit: uhm, or maybe not… it’s very jittery, that’s for sure.

maybe 4 mercs would be better?

sawbonez smg kind of useless now? feels like it takes about a full mag to kill. better to use pistol.

still no grenades and reload cancels sprint and all the other usual complaints, but overall looking significantly more interesting than the previous versions.

I have noticed that to about sawbonez, and it’s kind of unusual that it’s like that

Really feeling an improvement in the gun play and hit beep audio. I can’t feel too much of a difference in the movement, but it’s definitely not jerky. I’m unfortunately getting really horrendous frame lag issues compared to all previous patches, but I’ll just have to do some experimenting on my end.

I think 4 mercs would be better than 3 for the limit when joining. Will these be changeable between rounds or games? Also I was curious how long it takes to earn the in game currency because I’m rich as heck atm.

Yep sawbonez smg is one of the weakest weapon right now. even secondary smg of some others mercs look more powerful.

Movement improvement is a bit better, the relaod / cancel sprint is really annoying, I prefer the opposite, sprint cancel reloading or much better the sprint + relaod !

Jumps still feel a bit sticky and collision pass with the EV is better but still sticky to.

TTk is better but need to test a bit more, but it’s nice to be able to escape sometimes.

New White chappel modification is really to drastic, I hate the end of the map, I don’t know, that’s feel like cut in the middle of something.
Maybe give the last obj a real purpose, right now it’s a bit empty like just a straight cut.

3 mercs is really not much like said before 4 or 5 is the best way I think.

I experiment also some frame drop when server is full and much more than the previous patch.

I can dig the 3 character choice system. But it is a little bit dependent on whether you can successfully implement a way to pick characters before the round begins AND you know what characters your teammates chose. That would be optimal.

I don’t mind the changes on whitechapel. It would be kinda cool if you include both versions of the map in final release. It is kinda cool to have a 100% repair then escort map. It is also probably going to be very attractive to new players since it is simpler and more straight forward.

this is my thought on it. pubbers really wont understand the implication and get frustrated. cater to a class system with a dynamic individual element (mercs), dont penalize with limited choice

while this is a true statement, ET/RtCW were different in the regard that all weapons are equal. bait and pack, cleanup/revive. thats the job/class. remove frag at all and you make a bitch class that nobody wants to play

Just to be clear we are going to have load out changing between rounds without disconnecting from the server, it’s just going to take us a while to build it.

medic smg has been useless for a loonnnnngggg time. I dunno if the good aimers can get frags with him easily but me going 1v1 with any class always fails unless i catch them off guard

agreed, it’s got to the point where i dont expect to see a medic on my team. during one session last night neither side had a medic. revives are thin on the ground as well, due to the lack of meds, and poor protection (low to non-existent spawn shield). revive indicators could still do with being more prominent.

on the 3 characters per session, the cynic in me thinks this is an obvious f2p ploy - you only need to give three characters at the start and no one will immediately cry foul as their ingame session will be full. could of course be completely wrong :slight_smile:

At the beginning i was very excited about the game, and had A LOT of fun playing, and did in no way regret buying myself into the alpha.
But over the last months the game changed constantly in a direction that is in no way acceptable to me.

They seem to know what they are doing, but have a huge difference in understanding what the meaning of “highly competetive PC FPS” is than me.

I watched this long enough, and dont see myself having fun with this game in the future and cannot support this anymore.
Just asked for a refund.

Goodbye.

While this makes restricting players to three mercs less troublesome, I still cannot agree with any system that allows for less than one character per class.

Sure, you don’t absolutely NEED Engineers to complete objectives (which is already pretty bad for the teamplay aspect of the game) and I can see how such a restriction would fit the character focused system you guys are going for, but a team focused game should never stop me from switching to a class my team needs within a match.

That said, I feel like the changes you guys made to body shot damage, the headshot multiplier and sprinting while jumping are a great step towards improving the movement and combat in the game. There is still much to be done in that regard, but I definitely enjoy combat much more now.

Could we have a special ability to handle two guns at once ? You lose the iron sight and a lot of accuracy, but you get incredible damage output for close range, that would be cool !

Also I love the new game menu, but I’d like to be able to select my 5 mercs, because right now if anyone in my team disconnects we can’t fill the gap anymore as we could do before. I’m afraid this will force players to specialize too much and will have only a single task in any game, which for me simplifies too much the game strats. We can’t really surprise the enemy team anymore.
