Thank you Hydra:

http://niels.nu/files/et-damage.html

I believe that Hydra used the source to find these numbers. He’s a good guy.

For those that are too lazy to click on the link ^, here is an EXAMPLE of what’s on the chart. (His html looks much better.)

Exaplme from the link:

Enemy Territory weapon damage by “Hydra”

Weapon_____Damage_Headshot_Spread_Time__RPM__DPS___DPS___Reload time
__________________________________(ms)___body__head(ms)

Luger/18 50_____600____400__150___45_____125___1500
Colt

Thompson/__ 18______50_____400____150__400___120____333____2400
MP40

Oh! I should mention, the important thing with this chart, is the rate of fire numbers, and thier derivatives (DMS, etc).

As far as I can tell, this is the first time we have seen them.

(puubert) #3

The only thing i can’t understand is spread. What does the 400 mean?

(Hydra) #4

I don’t know exactly how spread is calculated, but spread = bad, so lower = better  I got those numbers from the code.

I think that with a spread of 2500 (MG42) bullits hit in a circular area with a radius of 1250 (2500/2) around your aimpoint.

(Hydra) #5

Oh, and thanks Piece, it’s nice when your work is appreciated

Also: the actual spread is also a factor of how long you are shooting.

I’ve made a small update, I’ve also included the shots-to-kill and time-to-kill which is calculated from the damage (per second).

(EvilBaga) #6

Whats the number…from source code of course…for spread values after cov ops lvl 3 is acheived? And Light weapons lvl 3? (or is that 4?)

(sniser) #7

In both cases it’s 0.65 (and it’s LW level 4 instead of 3, which is a bug)

(TFate) #8

Ah, so Garand DOES have a faster reload time.

These people have a few concerns over the spreadsheet.

ALSO, for spread, I have seen a site that showed the spread area to be a sharply definied square. Not a circle, a square, odd.

(Pamper) #10

It’s not odd if you think about how the game programmers do their work. They’ll use the easiest code possible. So to determine where a bullet hits they start from where you were aiming, and then move it up/down a random amount and left/right a random amount. It’s been this way since the original Quake.

It would be more realistic to move the bullet a random amount in a random direction, so the pattern is circular, but that would be more difficult math.

(Hydra) #11

They are right about the knife, that’s not a HS weapon. I’ll change it next time I update the spreadsheets.

About not taking in account the 20% reduction when weaing a helmet: this sheet only shows the in-code numbers and doesn’t take in account any of the in-game reductions.

(Homer J) #12

Are you sure about the rate of fire for the scoped FG42, it doesn’t seem nearly as fast as unscoped.

And if that rate of fire for the Tommy/MP40 is right there’s no wonder I feel like I would be better off with a piece of two by four compared to the RtCW guns.

(Cyber-Knight) #13

are you sure you can headshots with the MG42?

I know the Venom in RtCW had a flat rate of 20 damage/shot, no matter where you hit them.

(SCDS_reyalP) #14

the mgs (tank, fixed and mobile) are NOT headshot weapons. You cannot do headshots with them.

(Hydra) #15

I checked and I am sure they are NOT HS weapons. I just assumed they were, while they are not.

(piece) #16

Does the scoped garand have a wider spread then the unscoped? If it’s a typo, that would make sense, if not; I don’t get it.

Anyways, Thanks again Hydra. BTW: many hits on the spreadsheet?
