Ever wish you were recording a demo but weren't?

I just had one of those games where I really wish I was recording a demo but wasn’t…

It was on railgun, and as Allies the Axis had got the ammo in the depot and we had them pinned there. Due to the excellent work of a fellow medic, I had lasted so long I completely ran out of ammo, and had naught by my trusty blade. As I always do in this situation (because field ops give ammo less than they give birth) I charged at the enemy knife in hand. This is where the luck began…

I collided into an axis trying to jump onto the tug and somehow got him stuck between me and the tug - he was complete confused and soon to be dead.

Then I thought, hmm, quiet round here I might as well go for some ammo, so off I head to the bunker bit in the middle. Upon entering the bunker I see a medic shooting at something at the other end of the bunker. Stabby stabby, bleed bleed dead medic. That was lucky I thought and headed to the ammo only to find another axis with his back to me. Stabby stabby. Then another one! Stabby stabby! Then an axis engie spots me but is using a k43, he got a few rounds into me before he had to reload, wherein followed a very benny hill moment as I chased him at full throttle up some stairs and round a corner desperately trying to stab me. He reloaded and turned to shoot me only to get a good stabbing.

I finally died when I was picking up the ammo and got shot in the back. :confused:

Man I wish I had that on demo though, it was pure blind luck and psycopathic bloodlust all-in-one :smiley:

hell yea, the other day i saw a panzer flying towards me and i though ‘oh look there is a panzer flying towards me’ i then stepped to the left and heard WOOOOMPHH (that is a panzerfaust flying past). i then head KABOOOM followed closely by a SQUELCH, which later turned out to be someone on the oter team creaping up on me and he got a teammates panzer in his face ahahahahahahahhahahhhahhahahahhahahahahahahah

LOL, all too true!

I usually realise demo recording is off when something funny/exciting happens, but that’s a bit late isn’t it? I do record a lot of demos (with the intention to some day make a movie), but I really wish autoaction worked in campaign mode. :frowning:

Oh man, I’m gonna start recording every game I ever play…

…On oasis, I planted at the north gun and when I stepped out of the room, an engie was coming the other way. We both stood eaither side of a doorway and he panicked and fired the rifle grenade he was probably going to use to clear the gun room. It bounced off of me and landed right at his feet. Survival instincts kicked in and I sidestepped to behind the wall…KABOOM…When I looked back through the door there’s a rifle and a few blood stains. The only problem was, I was laughing so hard, I couldn’t concentrate enough to fight off the other engie that came along :confused:

I wish I was recording a demo last night. For some reason, this one guy seemed to have it in for me with the PF. I know the guy and he’s a good player. But it seemed everytime he fired off the shot I would make the perfect manuever to get away from it. Mind you, it was more luck than skill, but it would have been cool to watch over and over again as I dodge three PF attacks on one life. I imagine he was getting quite frustrated with me.

On the other hand, I would have loved to have a demo of the n00bness I experienced the same night. I am an engie defusing dyno at the 2nd tank barrier on Goldrush and get killed. The medic runs by me and shoots some ally - ok, now revive me. Wait, he has to reload first. That’s ok, there’s still time. Now he is switching weapons, here’s comes my revive… nope, that’s a med pack - he’s healing himself… a few more seconds and BOOM. He never even looked back at me… I would like to have posted that for anyone who wants to know what not to do as a medic.

Nah, they learnt from the mines that bright red things = no go. And the syringe symbol is way brighter and more obvious than a mine flag, so you definitely shouldn’t go near it.

I was very calmly planting a dynamite in oasis (was the last gun) and 5 dudes appeared from nowhere! I was soooo f*cking doomed, then I thought fast and I dropped a grenade, kamikaze style. Guess what happened next…

it would be neat to have a mod or something that recorded a demo every time you played (until someone wins, then it starts over)… it would automatically delete the demo if you dont type in a special command, like /savedemo or something, that way you could always have a replay of that.

eh, there’s a lot of things that would be nice that aren’t part of this world, lol. oh well.

i planted dynamite on the last gun on oasis, far side from the entrance beside the gun and went to the corner between gun and door, waiting with a gren in my hand, as always

axis engi came in and went straight for the dynamite completely ignoring me

well … i knifed him and we won … nearly fell of my chair laughing

I dont know if i accidently set this or it wa sin the 1.02 patch but since the 1.02 patch at the start of every game it starts a demo then at the end of the game it saves the stats to a txt file and stops the demo so now I’m auto recording every game and it doesnt really effect game play the only annoying thing is that the names are random nubmers so its hard to know what game is what lol

auto action causes the automatic recording/stats dump/screenshot, check your settings in the game options

auto demo recording only worked when all players where ready (competition settings) prior to the patch, haven’t checked its behavior since then

One thing that I got on replay is when Im playing against some really easy enemies… Im axis on FD and runs into the allied command post. Theres two guys getting ammo and one a bit in (with the big doors opend) I shoots down the first two and the last one starts shooting at me… so does a friend of his comming up from behind him. The first guy gets team killed and I kills the other one. Now it gets even more fun when two others goes in from the small door and another from the opend big doors. I think that Im goint to die so I throws a grenade while all those shoots at me like hell… to my suprise I survives and shoots one down with the lugar while my grenade gets another one. The last on (an engineer) backs out threw the small door and stepps on a team mates mine. I cries out a big lol and at the same moment I can hear someone getting revived. I only got the lugar left so I strafes a little to see threw the door. Theres that engineer. I takes him down and now theres finally an ammo pach att the command post. I takes it and at the same moment that medic who revived the engineer steps in. I kills him and runs out just to see a field ops heading for the opposite way. I kills him and returns to base for ammo.

OMFG!!! i didnt even know the replay existed until about a week ago, i completly looked over it! i assumed it would automatically record or somthing! but noooooo i didnt know you had toi hit f9 or whatever it is. i practically cried, theres been about three or four times when ive gotten some really good shots that i didnt even mean to do! and then when i find a server full of noobs, that makes me look really good!

I had a demoworthy match a week or so back on a 64 player server.

It was mainly demoworthy because it was so tragic (for allies) :slight_smile:

Anyway, the Map was Radar and the Allied team was hopelessly mismatched against us so we set off fighting.

We immediately repelled them at the bunker entrances (fwd spawn) and for 5minutes, managed to fight the Allies back to the courtyard around the house. 5 more minutes and we’d actually fought our way into the yard around the house. From there we just got in closer and closer until I found myself and another Axis running around the Allied spawn house giving them hell. Yeah, I know its spawnkilling but it was hysterically funny :smiley:

I finally ran out of ammo (as engineer) after firing all of my all of my rifle ammo, riflegrenades, pistol rounds and all but one handgrenade. I planet a dyno charge at the foot of the stairs and then ran back to the top and dropped my last grenade at my feet - Boom, took a last one with me.

Unfortunately I didn’t get anyone with the dyno :blah:

Has one of these my self,On oasis i manged to build the 2nd w/pump with out claiming the spawn site all the axis were busy killing allies to notice jumped down the well ans waited for about 10 secs then swam off.Got to the other side when an axis decided to destroy the pump.I waited and nobody came so i left mines around the entrance to the guns and went and planted at thr north gun ran to the south and planted there.Of course some axis respawns and heads straight to the south as the north had been blown i was a bit lame and he got me with a nade but then stood on my mine kaboom hes dead and the gun blows wed won with out securing the old city walis and i realized that i hadnt recorder my greates moment. :bash:

same shit happened to me, me and my brother play ET sometimes on the same server, accasionally we give eachother a few joke shots, anyway i gave him a joke shot then ran away he shot hit rifle nade which hit my back as i was running away and landed right at his feet, ahhaa it was sooo funny he killed himself.
