ETQW Servers

With the release of ETQW due sooner rather than later is there any info on whether, an ETQW server can be hosted on Dedicated server boxes or will they be similar in set up to BF2?

Bf2 had both Linux and Windows Dedicated server clients. And im 99.9999% sure that et: qw will have the same.

afaik, servers will be similar to ET servers, ie: you can run your own
BF2 servers are controlled by EA, iirc

Wonder how this will work with the global ranking?

Explain[/quote]

Only unranked BF2 servers can be hosted on a dedicated server box. Ranked servers have to be rented from a hosting company.

That’s not how QW works

Servers might have to receive some kind of certification before submitting data to the global ranking system (?)
Like MMOs, that have “offical fansites”, ET:QW will have “official fanservers” I can’t think of anything else except the server app being hack-proof, which is very unlikely.

Not true, my community hosted ranked servers. But doubt that et: qw will have the same “ranked server” system =)

Well BF2 is more strict on server rules. In ET:QW They seem more willing to see the game changed around for fun.
