Is ET-QW haven a mixed faverit to shose like CTF, Seag , CoOp , DM, Arana , and other stff like this that we know of , I did not know if any one posted it up allready? :???: :drink:
ETQW gametypes
W:ET only had LMS (Comparable to CS for the exception of āthe bombā.), single map, campaign and SW.
So Iām not really expecting a change, and a mod could surely fix this.
BTW: Your thread title could better be changed to something like āET:QW gametypesā.
I had to read your post 3 times before I understood what youāre trying to say. Next time, please re-read it to make sure it makes sense and then press submit . Would make life easier for all of us!
Last Man Standing didnt feel right for me on the stock ET maps. No idea how it would translate to QW
CTF might suit QW - escaping across the map with the flag, buddy rocks up in a Hummerto pick you up - could be fun. Possibly.
Hopefully not DM
Co-Op - err i guess it already is co op if you play with you team!
We havenāt done LMS for ETQW - didnāt seem to be any point, given its popularity in W:ET and the relative sizes of the ETQW maps etc.
CTF would require its own maps, and is best left for a mod, I think. Iād really like to see a Team Arena style thing, or something with jetpacks like Tribes.
but CTF is just brainless hit and runā¦ Iād love to see a map like Baserace instead. Sure, you still have to go and steal something from the enemy base, but then you have to plan which part of your base you want to improve first. With the RTS elements of Quake Wars (deployables, vehicle āfactoriesā, ā¦) this would be even more interesting to play.
app app appā¦ ctf can be fun and there are thousands of players out there who love that gametype.
I guess if you analyse the tactical aspects of good ctf-play and the different roles that team-members play, then you see the not so brainless dimensions of ctf.
Not that I am an expert, never played competitive ctf. but I appreciate the intensity of ctf.
Baserace (what a great map) is ctf in my mind. I will definitely try and make some sort of ctf-map for etqw. And I also want to makeā¦ nah, letās wait for the game.
Hey, when will we get it!
//L.
Iāve competed in Tribes for over 2 years, which is ctf. Played matches versus the noobiest of the noobs up to 5150 which just spanked us.
There is alot of strategy there, but Tribes had the extra ābaseā dimension. You changed class (size of armor) by inventory stations, which were powered by generators, which powered radar and large turrets and vehicle pads, and had farmers laying out smaller turrets. So the Tribes CTF included different tactics than you would find in say Haloās CTF.
I played HO (heavy offense) and my job was to clear the flag, then proceed into their base and try and destroy the gens and stations. I also played light defense flag chaser.
I think a ctf for Quake Wars could work if it had another dimension to the play like the above. Vanilla CTF is kind of boring imo.
Thanks for the reply guys but Wils TeamArena I dont think that would work unless everyone like to play that , But like in Tribes 2 in the hit Esc while in game it self also let you vote on the typ of map you would like to play and its voted on , Will that be in the game voteing to change the typ of game you want to try out.
Do you think W:ET needed CTF, TeamArena or DM? I certainly donāt. Out of the box it should be ET and ET only, all other gamemodes can be made by modders or, in the case of CTF, map-makers. Leave ET be!
IMHO, itās better to focus both development and gamers on one gametype when itās already as complicated as ET-style objectives.
CTF or other gamemodes might even be more sucessfull to the game overall if left to a mod. Is it better to have a few stock CTF maps tacked on or to have a modder team focused entirely on it, long term?
Oh Hell no becase that going to be like haveing a game of TV and that game was a FLOP lol oh hell no , no grapple !!! NUFF sead neff sead

I imagine you never played Q1CTF or Q2CTF, also grammar and punctuation is the difference between āI helped my uncle Jack, off his horseā and āI helped my uncle jack off his horse.ā

Well Im glad that you did all that stuff cause you like to blow , I was getting a point across that Tribes V was a flop so where did that cum from what you sead , Witch I dont understand why pepole cut others down , just awnser what was asked ok leve if your not going to give a awnser .
I think the few gametypes for ET and ET:QW are fine. Lets think back to RTCW, it had the objective/stopwatch modes and a CheckPoint mode. Because the objective modes in this game were so fun, barely anyone played the CheckPoint game mode. The objectives in ET are great because there is so much you can do and map makers can make some very unique maps with very different objectives. Just because you are playing one gametype, there is a lot of variance in the objectives of different maps. For example, Reactor has a very unique objective that requires a covertops to win or baserace with itās CTF/RTS elements.
ET:QW looks like it will offer even more unique objectives and iām sure map makers can come up with some creative new objectives in maps. So it shouldnāt be about the amount of gametypes really, but the quality of them IMO. Objective modes are so complex because they are different with each maps allowing for a lot of different strategies. Which is why ETās and RTCWās objective modes were so successful.

Q1CTF and Q2CTF both had grapple and they were the most popular CTF mods created soā¦who cares what T:V had. I didnāt cut you down, all I said was that you write like a 12 year old and it can be very confusing.
there have been mentionas about increased scripting posibilites for mapscripts i think somewhere in this forum
on current ET scripting objectives for objective played maps can be made with elements of other game modes such as CTF. with the increased posibilites in QW scripting you might be able to make one part of the map that is almost entirly an objective based around a specific gametyle again for example CTF, just replace the flag with something more fitting to the senarioā¦ like a ummmā¦ portable strog pryonite contaminater with wireless internet conectionā¦
raztafar1 its not a problem man Im cool with ya I dont want to start out a rant forum, your cool with me , Now as I was finding out on what the player want in game is to let it be the game SD is making because, I just wanted to find out what thay had in mind in the game it self I would like to have a interview with them on my team speak in person .
