ETQW-Cardgame (unfinished)

(Mani) #1

Hi,

some time ago I had the idea to build a ETQW-based cardgame, which should follow the principles of “Top Trumps” (explanation). Here is how it could look (just a quick protoype, please forgive my poor graphic skills):

But sadly I didn’t have enough time to bring the project to completion. So i decided to upload the stuff i already did here, if you like the idea feel free to use (and maybe complete) it.

A summary of what has been done already:

  • Most of the attributes for Infantry, Vehicles and Deployables have been extracted from the SDK.
  • Above prototype has been build, based on graphics from the fansite-kit.

What still has to be done:

  • Find the missing values.
  • Maybe build a better design for the cards.
  • Take screenshots of the vehicles etc…
  • And put it all together.

If you have problems with the files, please contact me.

Greetings
Mani

Nice idea, didn’t the collectors edition come with some cards already? You could have a look at the design they used there.

Yeah they came with a couple of cards. I still have mine somewhere.

good to use as inspiration, but not near perfect =P

a boardgame version could be cool… lol

combination of risk & the ETQW maps…? give the MCP route blocks, give the Strogg deployspots, make models of all units, give the houses a “defense rating” give the soldier figures classes (e.g. Rocketlauncher as a class, good vs vehicles, bad vs people)

could be done O_o would take a lot of work, if only I had no school & unlimited money h4x… =P

I would be totally up for help, but I have college/work. My schedule is pretty occupied, but a ETQW board game sounds awesome, if not complex. We would have so much to manage, considering vehicles and infantry moving independently, such as Armadillo would move 4 squares per turn, i dunno. :stuck_out_tongue:

That sound like a good idea, too. Of course it would be much more complex than what I had in mind, I think you could call it an complete “Offline-Mod”.

Make some real figurines and play etqw as you would play warhammer, that would be ace  but I havent any sculpting skills
