etconfig.cfg

(Bludd) #1

Hi,

I’m pretty confident in my knowledge of the config files, scripting, etc, and I’m pretty sure I know what the majority of the variables are for, and what the various settings for each will do. But, I would still like an official rundown of every line in the default etconfig.cfg file, what are the possible settings and/or ranges for each, and what results the different settings will yield. I’m hoping this reaches the eyes of an actual Splash Damage ET developer, or someone who can point me to such a list.

Also, if this list would state which variables were cheat-protected, that would be nice as well, so I don’t go changing something that will get me kicked from a server. Anything that may not be in a default etconfig file but can be added and has a legitimate effect would also be appreciated.

I know I’m asking for a lot but I would assume such a thing already exists, as I’m sure the Splash Damage folks have a list somewhere.

Thanks a lot!

Thanks, I’m not looking for other ppls configs, but an official definition of each variable in etconfig.cfg and what each one does at it’s different settings. Thanks anyway tho

My advice is PM a moderator or administrator, it would atleast bring it to their attention

Was more a reply to fattakin than to this topic

I don’t think there’s a full listing of all the commands anywhere, complete with explanations - most of them are self-explanatory and the rest aren’t really meant to be changed.

If you post some of the ones you want to know about in this thread, I can at least try to remember what they do (and where I can’t I’ll ask around the office to see if anyone else knows).

Thats a rundown of most of the cvars, the site is from RTCW, but most of them still apply.

Hmmm, ok then. Maybe I should make such a list myself. Anyway, maybe you could list all the ones that can be used to improve performance (I have a high-end machine but I’d still like to know the best performance boosters). I searched the board and found some common ones, but are there any less known performance settings? Thanks.

Hey BLudd

I have/had a lot of questions too about cvars… But u can understand…that on a site like this ‘developers forum’…the SD crew wont just tell u everything about , variables that COULD lead to exploits… or mini-cheats …:o

Anyways…i think theres still some info that could be nice to know more about…
