Et: Xreal
Try take a look at open territory page:
http://www.openterritory.co.uk/ and in http://sourceforge.net/p/openterritory/home/
They are working in the project bugfix.
Actually they are using the “bugfix project” ioWolfET for their bugfix project and merging the ET-XreaL source into their project - this is what i do imply while i read their website.

However, let’s see who will do the race, open territory or AR or none of them? :stroggbanana:

Thats what I’m talking about
It’s like a dream^^

(blad3) #23

can someone give the server ip where is it?

(Dragnadh) #24

There ain’t a server but here is the process:
http://redmine.xreal-project.net/projects/et-xreal/roadmap

Here are the files:
https://xreal.svn.sourceforge.net/svnroot/xreal/branches/ET-XreaL/

It’s not a bad thing imho that different groups are working separately on different similar projects, because in most cases mods like this doesn’t get finished, atleast to a fairly playable state. When there is more mods on progress the chance of one finishing is bigger. Besides if one is halted, the remaining devs can move to the non-halted project, because the goal is similar. And also they can co-op to progress extra fast.

There’s nothing for us to show yet, we are in need to animators in order for us to get assets fully working in game before we can show off our new stuff.

Perhaps this guy (Tr3b) is too busy with coding and studying or doesn’t know the existence of this forum here? I dunno

He is active like hell and i guess, that he do not have the time to watch this forum too:
http://xreal.git.sourceforge.net/git/gitweb.cgi?p=xreal/ET-XreaL;a=summary

But i am sure, that he would be happy to see some support in his project (or just some nice comments about his progress):

btw: does anybody know something about ETF?
I read some time ago (http://qexpo.tastyspleen.net/booth.php?id=152) that it should be released under the terms of the GPL, but till now i haven´t found any source.
My attempts to contact lavagod or rr2d02 aren´t successfull till now.

I would like to resurrect this project as an addition to et:x (maybe some kind of reference implementation)…

(Dragnadh) #28

ETF, the concept/idea of the project look’s indeed nice.

(reaply) #29

(I gave away my pc :frowning: ) But I still can’t wait for this to come out.

(zbzero) #30

Tr3b is working hard in the project for really he said the renderer is almost done

(KeMoN) #31

So you dont play ET anymore?

(reaply) #32

For now I cannot. And it’s a super long story but the basic CODE is that I give my old pc away to someone who needs it more, I will get a better pc v57! Right now i’m typing this on my playstation.

(varsovie) #33

You are right Dragnadh, because most AR activity happens in backend developer zone. I will talk with our Project Manager to release some leakages to official site…

Everybody here will agree that W:ET gameplay (classes) is one of the best on the world. Even years later and many other FPS released like BF2 … there is still no any great balanced FPS like W:ET still is.

Axis Revenge will not be a simple port with gfx enhancement like ET-xreal seems to be. AR will be a new game combining keyparts of ET/RTCW and different new features with alternative history regarding WW2.

Axis Revenge project raised ~1 year ago , using XReal engine was only one way to milestone improvement in W:ET, so we had to rewrite all gameplay code from the begin. To not say - just write ET gameplay for Xreal engine

Quakecon 2010 by releasing W:ET under GPL changed many things.

 • From one side boost AR progress to let include already done W:ET code.
 • From another side now everybody wants make own W:ET using released GPL code and hard to keep people focused on long time project.

Released W:ET under GPL is great gesture from Anthony and now time for the community to prove self in seize the opportunity. So grab Your Radiant, Blender, Milkshape, Visual Studio … keep up good work mates.

(shagileo) #34

Not so sure, if ET-xreal is just a simple port

Anyhow, Axis Revenge seems to be an interesting project, it would be nice indeed to see some more information about it

Fully agree with the above.

(eiM) #36

We will do our best to bring something to you in the near future, especially in order to get some more contribution and developers on board

(pred4to5) #37

New xreal screenshot

(Avoc) #38

I’ve never seen such a shiny terrain before. :stuck_out_tongue:

(UJERebel) #39

Looks pretty fake to me… :S

(Avoc) #40

It isn’t fake, but the effects are not subtle at all. Very over done, and no real art style. I am pretty sure that once mappers get the time to experiment with the new eyecandy, it will look better.
