But the wish of xReal is to have a bit different gameplay, and different context and maps.
Et:Xreal is the normal ET with a new renderer, that’s not the same.Axis Revenge team had to rewrite all gameplay code for their game!
I’m sure(and I really hope) that it won’t be the same thing!

(KeMoN) #14

Why?
The ET gameplay is best. It is the only shooter I know which has this class/team based gameplay. BF also has classes but there the objs are flags. There are only minor things I would change if I could, but I hope axis revenge keeps the normal gameplay!!!

(Dragnadh) #15

If you look to the forum/site of axisrevenge it look’s kinda death :(.

(Avoc) #16

Its because most of the forums at axisrevenge is only open to the devs. There are like 2 public forums.

(acQu) #17

Maybe all of you just want to contribute to a solid bugfix project first, and then take that code and implement what you want. Because i dont see any sense in such a chaotical merging of code.

Work on the renderer is ok, but i dont really see the guy who is really doing that work beeing active here.

(zbzero) #18

Try take a look at open territory page:
http://www.openterritory.co.uk/ and in http://sourceforge.net/p/openterritory/home/
They are working in the project bugfix.

(Dragnadh) #19

To be honest, I am looking forward to see this project finished. Judging by http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vWkhyIeEfjY&fmt=22 (Video showing what xreal renderer can do). Imagine those graphics + ET gameplay, would be awesome.

(sondzhi) #20

lol, ok let’s see we having now two official projects based upon the ET and XreaL source, openterritory and axis revenge with - probably - the same goal… erm yeah, that’s what we all wanted

Avoc, can’t you tell your projects leaders at AR to open up more forums, or to release some media content like ingame screenshots, because the public is really curious about the progress and the model wips at the website are nice, but alone they don’t rock my socks off yet

Work on the renderer is ok, but i dont really see the guy who is really doing that work beeing active here.

Perhaps this guy (Tr3b) is too busy with coding and studying or doesn’t know the existence of this forum here? I dunno

Actually they are using the “bugfix project” ioWolfET for their bugfix project and merging the ET-XreaL source into their project - this is what i do imply while i read their website.

However, let’s see who will do the race, open territory or AR or none of them? :stroggbanana:

(KeMoN) #22

Thats what I’m talking about
It’s like a dream^^

(blad3) #23

can someone give the server ip where is it?

(Dragnadh) #24

There ain’t a server but here is the process:
http://redmine.xreal-project.net/projects/et-xreal/roadmap

Here are the files:
https://xreal.svn.sourceforge.net/svnroot/xreal/branches/ET-XreaL/

(-SSF-Sage) #25

It’s not a bad thing imho that different groups are working separately on different similar projects, because in most cases mods like this doesn’t get finished, atleast to a fairly playable state. When there is more mods on progress the chance of one finishing is bigger. Besides if one is halted, the remaining devs can move to the non-halted project, because the goal is similar. And also they can co-op to progress extra fast.

(.Chris.) #26

There’s nothing for us to show yet, we are in need to animators in order for us to get assets fully working in game before we can show off our new stuff.

(Peter Silie) #27

Perhaps this guy (Tr3b) is too busy with coding and studying or doesn’t know the existence of this forum here? I dunno

He is active like hell and i guess, that he do not have the time to watch this forum too:
http://xreal.git.sourceforge.net/git/gitweb.cgi?p=xreal/ET-XreaL;a=summary

But i am sure, that he would be happy to see some support in his project (or just some nice comments about his progress):
http://xreal-project.net/?page_id=3

btw: does anybody know something about ETF?
I read some time ago (http://qexpo.tastyspleen.net/booth.php?id=152) that it should be released under the terms of the GPL, but till now i haven´t found any source.
My attempts to contact lavagod or rr2d02 aren´t successfull till now.

I would like to resurrect this project as an addition to et:x (maybe some kind of reference implementation)…

(Dragnadh) #28

ETF, the concept/idea of the project look’s indeed nice.

(reaply) #29

(I gave away my pc :frowning: ) But I still can’t wait for this to come out.

(zbzero) #30

Tr3b is working hard in the project for really he said the renderer is almost done

(KeMoN) #31

So you dont play ET anymore?
