I have a P3 1Ghz with a Maxi Xentor 32 (TNT2) video card… It’s running the default install of Windows 2003 Server… DirectX 8.1… Latest XP drivers…
Starts up… grey screen… then drops out (the subsystem info box has gone by this time)…
Any ideas how to debug? I can’t run my desktop as low as 640x480… 800x600 is the lowest - no change… I’ve tried all the typical stuff like max hardware accel etc…
Any thoughts?

what bani said… and quake 3 engine and ET are not offecialy supported by 2k3…
it’s like installing windows 3.1 and coming on here saying ET wont work
IF he is running a dedicated Server from the comand line, it should make no difference whether or not he can “play the game” with win2003 Server.
It is faster than linuX on most file intensive things and 3 or 4 time faster than Win2K, so it should make an outstanding game server.
The difference between the server 2003 and XP is mostly in how the computer networks. This makes a lot more to configure correctly. You probably can get it to work on a windows server OS, but you’ve gotta find out exactly what’s going on with it. I.E. check which services are running and disable any uncessary ones.
It would be too much work for me to wanna do. Especially when you can install something stable like Windows 2000 professional or even Windows XP and expect to run ET on a default install.
