I like the plane formation in the sky - do they fire?

What are the objectives?

Objectives for the Allies so far … build the water-pump.
Objectives for the Axis so far…none.

I actually want to make the planes fly too, but i need to find out how i go about scripting them first, then they may drop bombs as an objective for the axis.

not very important but if you gonna make the map during the day you might wanna remove the window textures with light on.
Also may i suggest you use a scrolling texture for the airplanes instead of using actual models. If the sky is high enough and the texture is good the difference should be unnoticeable.
It will save you some fps plus a whole lot of scripting trouble.

@ thore, you can actually walk up quite a few of those, and walk around the building/rooftops, so all the fighting doesn’t just take place on the ground. A few routes do actually go over the rooftops, just to give the advancing team an extra route, though not nessecarilly an advantage.

Although, i think at the moment there may be some trickjumps that need to be clipped. :bump:

Why do you say that ?
TBH, i always make the map b4 i put any objectives in, if i come across a part i think i could add an objective to then i will. I can walk around a blank map in ET and work out where objectives can go, whether or not these are easy to get to, will it be hard for the defending team to disarm dynomite at an explodable objective if the spawn is x amount away etc…

I basically get to add my objectives to a blank canvass, and put them more or less in the correct places first time. It is just MY way of working.

I believe a better map would be one that has had the objectives planned and thouhght about first, probabaly on paper, then brushwork and finally any objective tweaking necessary.
But you have already thought about the map itself, buildings etc so i can see where you are coming from! :slight_smile:

I think its the choice of the mapper how he plans/creates his map.
There are mappers that plan everything before laying a brush and there are some that map the “world” and then place objectives here and there.
Everyone has his own style.

That’s not fair, there’s only a german plane model and I need a plane for allies.
I have a 3ds (3dsmax’s) model but it’s not textured. I have a lot of work to do now…

Edit: UVW Mapping done, but if the plane won’t look good enough I think I’ll just take the german plane and change the texture…
