Hello
Has anyone any news about SL problems ?
They seem to have a corrupted MySql file, but because the problem exists since 3 weeks, I am afraid they can’t restore it …
So please, who (or where) can give infos please ?

No, not the news, I talk about the database functions of the webiste (statistics on servers, on players, buddylist, ranking, etc …)
Yes. The last time i visited there, their database was screwed. Server does not even display the players who play there. Says something about missing SQL query if i remember. I did not visit any of the tracking sites lately.
hi
I write news on my page almost every day
see http://www.rtcwmap.de
and our rss-feeds also works
http://truecomm.tr.ohost.de/rss_stream/4ever.rss
but SL has (I think) a root server problem and dont publish news and stats any more
we only can to wait and see
yes still down …
heard the site will be back but … and today this one is dead atm …http://et.trackbase.net/
dont understand why with a site backup splat is not back yet
To inform about Trackbase, we got some server trouble and our provider is looking at it - doing all they can do. We expect to be back before the end of the weekend. (Yes timing is back, but hey the world is gonna die tomorrow so :))
I hope to post more info very soon
Paul, is your datamodel the same as SL ? In this case, maybe you could give SL the mysqldump of your database (according to the error, they have some corrupted datafiles) ? Should be fairplay attitude no ???
Just to set things clear:
TB and SL are in no competition, we’re just both different hosts, services if you will, for the community.
Normally the TB server issues should be solved this weekend (as stated above). Not sure if a database exchange would be needed at this time.
Like shagileo says, the backend system is completely written from scratch, and is therefore also completely different by it’s database. We hope to be back online soon, but stit happens
Anyway, we got a surprise coming up
paul, it is not really mannered to post in this kind of topic, after all what happened with you and splatterladder. so pls show at least a bit of respect.
also i am sure noone should visit your site anymore, or do you want to tell us someone hacked your old server and placed a trojan there => http://www.splashdamage.com/forums/showthread.php?t=18467
suuuuure…

Seams you are not the right person to talk about respect, so pls show at least a bit of respect…yourself
I love it when aaa4 talks again, you are always so positive. If you want I’ll send you that source code.
Second, SL was planned to shut down at 31December 2010. I wasn’t allowed to improve SL anymore, because it would be to big and useless. So what would you have done? Waited till it died? I couldn’t so what I did was to start coding - initial titled SLv3, but well when that was nearly finished they didn’t wanted it either so that was the start of TB. Now I can actively develop the project - improve and improve it. They had let me out, it’s not my fault so please watch your words when you’re talking about this. First make sure you know the full story.
Hi Paul
I want to believe your story, and understand your feeling.
And when you say :
Now I can actively develop the project - improve and improve it.
be sure I will give you all the “details” to improve TB and give ET community the same “fine-grained” informations that SL gave us.
TB is back now, good !!!

Seems like I already got you on xfire, please catch me when I come online (trackbase) so I can give you the link to the source
Oh and yeah, we are very happy as well! We’ve also got a NAS storage account at the DC now, so daily full-DB backups are now installed

When i read such bull i see you are still pretending the whole world and sl is bad and you are the good guy. Well if thats how you want people to see you… they will learn the one way or the other how nice you really are.
The full story is a whole other story then the bedtimestory you tell everyone - even those that dont want to hear it…
To answer the question about whats up with splatterladder and since im a bit lazy and all of those who are interested could easily browse the splatterladder forums for actual infos, i copy and paste my post.
To inform you all about what has happened and what will happen during the next days/weeks.
I write a short list to keep the info simple but organized.
I would like to thank Proddi, Rippchen, Erdnussjack, Ragnar 40K, Eck, Binaural, NHLfan and all of the old bunch that allready left us some time ago or leave us now.
At least i want to thank them because i have had contact here with them in the past. Without those people sl would never have been such a great project.
They have been hated back in the past by many but loved by even more. Lets keep em in mind with good ol memories.
I dunno what else should be said, but all of you have the chance to say goodbye and share your meanings for the future.
More comments on it can be find in the appropriate thread at sl.forums.
It’s too hard to suggest help to each other guys? Both projects can be living their way, both are appreciate.
Exactly.
We don’t see a purpose in convincing people to use one service or another.
People are free to choose whatever they want - alternatives all around.
:stroggbanana:
FYI:
SL is almost ready for relaunch. Tracker is running well, only a handfull fixed have to been done for “go-live”.
