Hi,
I am looking for some info on ET. I want to know how much ET servers i can host on a server with 2 quad core processor’s (2.3ghz) 4 gig ram internal. It wil be located in a datacenter for a nice internet connection. I just need an estemate on how much servers i can host.

what is a nice internet connection?
also depends on what mods you will be running, some need more cpu then others
The data center has a gigbit network. I it’s the largest datacenter of the netherlands. Mods will be et pro, jaymod and pub.
I did that before i a looking for the system requerments for a server that can run 20 or 25 et gameservers. read the first post properly
make sure you dotn get ripped off on a datalimit, servers use a lot of bandwidth
anyway, i’d say about 23 not-too-busy servers
4 gb ram might be a bit low for that many servers tho
im not a pro, but i think 20 should work fine.
The ram mem. can be higher thats not to expensive. I was thinking of an average of 20 slots per gameserver. Do you think thats to busy?
have you read the server requirements in the manual ?
Should be a reasonable representation
it depends on:
network quality: ping, bandwidth etc
network card (there are 500$ cards for a reason, i can crash my 20$ card with a torrent)
processor (amount, cores and frequency arent the only specs that matter)
rest of server
operating system
tweaking of os
players on server
your own expectations (i.e. when is a server running smoth, when is it “too laggy”)
imo you wont get a satisfying answer other than:
grab a server and install et on it …
if a server has 20 slots, doesnt mean those slots are always full
if you rent 10 very unpopular servers and 10 very popular servers, they’ll all run pretty smooth and you’ll get paid for 20 servers
i doubt a server will be busy straight away in a game like ET
