ET Server Redirect problems

(s.s. shag) #1

Sup Ya’ll.

We’re having problem sending server redirects to our other server when our main server is full. We are using this command:

sv_fullmsg "ET://67.15.23.243:27960"

but it keeps on giving us an error when we try to connec to the full server with this error:

ET://67.15.23.243:27960

Am i doing something wrong?

cheers,

Shag

Humm… If I’m right sv_fullmsg is the message that will be shown if the server is full, so its working

(s.s. shag) #3

ahh…ok then… so there isnt any command that redirects a person connecting connecting to full server to a server that isnt full. if there is can someone tell me what it is and how to enable it?

Apreciate the quick reply…

cheers

shag

So it looks like you are doing it right, assuming you are infact running 2.60

(s.s. shag) #5

we are running 2.60
with shrub and etadmin mod and a shrub hitsounds pack… it still gives an error…

does it has the be that both servers have to be running the same mods in order for the redirect to work?

(EB) #6

I highly doubt that…maybe it is an Etpro enabled feature and they forgot to mention that ? OR…
—You could try it like so: just the I.P…eliminate the “ET://”, afterall when connecting by IP, you don’t place that portion ahead of the address.

(SCDS_reyalP) #7

It certainly isn’t a an etpro feature, we tested it with vanilla 2.60. However, it might not work with shrub (since shrub is based on 2.56 gamecode, and I’m not sure if this feature requires cooperation from gamecode or not.). etadminmod doesn’t matter, since it is just a console bot, and sound packs don’t matter.

It should certainly be of the form et://ip:port

Perhaps the ‘et’ part is case sensitive ?

(Gorrdy) #8

were having the same issue, doesnt work, filled it in exactly as shown in the 2.60 documentation. Running etpub not shrub on ours.

(DG) #9

has worked on vanilla etmain for me

(Gorrdy) #10

So you used it as : set sv_fullmsg “ET://host.to.redirect.to:port” with capital ET and all the same?

(s.s. shag) #11

yes we did use:
sv_fullmsg “ET://host.to.redirect.to:port” with capital ET, i think we also tried it with lower case… same problem… it could be shrub but i think we’re running a new version of shrub… the maker supposedly made an update and our server provided is running with the mod… we’re running 1.2-TEST13… now if thats not an updated shrub then, im a retard…

we’ll give et://ip:port another shot… lets see… ill update
thanks for the quick replies guys… really appreciate it

shag

(Nail) #12

that version of shrub is the latest, but still from Jan/2004
there was an April fools joke thread about an update, but it was just 1.2-test13 on the link

(Gorrdy) #13

i just changed ours to lowercase et but we dont run shrub , etpub. with etadmin mod

(Nail) #14

I was replying to s.s.shaq, the thread starter

(EB) #15

“qagame_mp_x86.dll” enough said ?

(s.s. shag) #16

“qagame_mp_x86.dll”

HUH?

(Floris) #17

Oops didnt read that part of the docs -_-

As for qagame, et has 3 parts ui cgame and qagame, each part can be changed in the source code (“making a mod”). The 2.60 update changed these 3 to the newest version… But… a mod needs to be compiled with the et 2.60 source code to have some of the features, and since the source code aint released yet they havent implented the cvar like that

(Gorrdy) #18

Ooops Sorry Nail, i know you were answering him, was just throwing in my 2cents , that it doesnt seem to be a shrub only problem.

(Gorrdy) #19

Still a no go, did it all per 2.60 documentation with et and ET . Person trying to connect just gets disconnected and the redirect shows in console with all the right ip and port, just doesnt connect. :disgust:

(SCDS_reyalP) #20

have you tried vanilla etmain ?
