Go into the options menu and configure your settings for low quality etc. Try running the game at a lower resolution also like 800x600 or even 640x480 then hit apply. You should see some improvements. Also make sure your drivers are up to date.

or type /cg_drawfps in the consule and tell us what the number usually is. It will vary from map to map.

Is it just Radar, all maps, or at random times?

But for real: close all other programs, esp. internet browser or MSN Messenger etc. You can play ET with a 56k connection, but I don’t recommend it, you should use at least use ISDN. If the problem is the (bad) framerate then read this thread.

nah i dont use kazaa lol i hate it
but it was not my ET it was an mates so i asked for him but he found the problem

It also helps to set the games graphics setting at the lowest setting which would be labeled as “fastest” , that should help solve alot of lag probs. If you want to run the game at the highest graphics setting , consider getting more RAM since this game seems to be a RAM muncher at the highest settings

Best thing to stop bad FPS,get a powerful PC with a good GC and alot of memory.

Yes, if your video card is just mediocre then set it to lower settings. Also try /reconnect, sometimes that helps for my connection. Sometimes it’s hard to determine if it’s lag or just low fps. As for buying a new pc, it’s more logical just to reajust your resolution.

Its not more logical,just alot cheaper as for some people even the lowest graphics and the lowest resoloution on maps like Radar still result in bad FPS.

The fact remains though if you have a low spec PC you cant expect ET to run smoothly you can try and add a few FPS but it doesnt get much better than that.Unless u play on a non-PB server were you can TWEAK ur config so there is no graphical detail at all,but the trouble is with that the game looks like shite.

Some of us are(not me though),so to those with bad FPS and who have money GET A BETTER PC!!!
