ET:QW

(LOWLUX) #1

is ET:QW free or do you have to buy it??

and is there gonna be any beta testers? or demos?

been playing ET and true combat ellite mod scene they both came out.

(FootSoulJah) #2

ET:QW is not free and i think it is on site beta testers only and no talk of a demo yet.

(LOWLUX) #3

what kind of specs do we need to play this game??..

(FootSoulJah) #4

From the mag previews and what ive heard the specs are near doom 3’s.

(ParanoiD) #5

Yeah doom3 was mentioned in a magazine. Still I think your system needs to be a little better. I guess (and hope) its around 2.0 GHZ P4/AMD Athlon xp 2000+, 512 MB RAM, ATI Radeon 9500/nVidia GeForce 4 (FX-5 series recommend).

I would say it’ll use slightly more power than Doom3, simply because there will be many more people/models in one place at the same time. In theory, up to 32 or so. Now imagine all of them spamming grenades, airstrikes etc.

The game won’t be free, but Wolf:ET was meant to go retail at some point. I think ET:QW will be well worth it, and I’m saving money for machine upgrade as well (ET:QW being the only reason).

Some people, Americans in particular, prefer to stay away from whatever that is free. I read some W:ET reviews yesterday about how little staying power (!) W:ET has. And how unfinished it is compared to America’s Army. Tell you what, I don’t know and never knew anyone who’d play America’s Army.

I hope a CD with WET will be part of the package (at least in the special edition).

And I tested AAO. But the training phase (which you need to accomplish before playing) is just boring and the game itsself usually only consists of camping and waiting for the enemy.

(Etnies) #8

What you mean its on the site, where abouts?

(Salteh) #9

“on site” does not mean the same thing as “on the (web)site”

(DarkangelUK) #10

In house testing. I’ve never known Activision/Id Software to ever do open, or indeed closed registration betas before (may be wrong tho).

(Gimpsta) #11

… he means that they are probably using testers at their office rather than distributing a beta version to external people

:stuck_out_tongue:

(Etnies) #12

oh lol, id call that “in house” testing but thur ya go!

(Sauron|EFG) #13

There were closed betas of W:ET before the public test version was released, but maybe that’s not what you mean? (I was cut from the second (larger) group of testers the day I received the NDA due to the leak. :frowning: )

I know people who’s done closed beta testing of other Activision games as well.

(DarkangelUK) #14

Was more the Id side i was meaning, but yeah i forgot about W:ET.

(Etnies) #15

and what about et:qw anyone reckon there’ll be using beta testers?

(Sauron|EFG) #16

Apparently everyone here with a username starting with S will get to beta test it.

(Ragnar_40k) #17

No no, r and s are the letters!

(DarkangelUK) #18
