[et:qw]: RTS-Elements

(nUllSkillZ) #1

Hi,

haven’t seen a topic / discussion on this feature of et:qw so far.

In one article about et:qw in of one of the german magazines (PC-Games) they mentioned that the teams can build / must build (not sure about this) a base / basis.
Mobile command posts are the basis of the base  .
Due to the magazine they are also used to produce vehicles.
After building a radar station the team will have an overview of the map (BF2 has something similar).

Not sure if there are any resources the teams must get to produce vehicles.
Also not sure if basis have to be build.

It would then be a combination of Role Playing Game elements and Real Time Strategy elements.

Hmm, have to look for “C&C Renegade”.
I think it has also some RTS-elements in the MP part.
Not sure about this at the moment.

No resources - it has been mentioned in several previews.

I hope they seriously overhauled the command map, otherwise there won’t be many uses for radar. Command map is very unreadable, and there are constant issues with getting the right zoom. Vector command map would be ideal.

Radars will probably be very useful when placed in good positions.Checking for enemy near objectives etc.

I think this would be cool in the game. Makes you work as a team better i think to decide what to do. Look at the map baserace, its likely the same, you get construction stuff and bring it to your camp. You can built many things, but what should you do, a fence to keep the enemy out, ammo for the medics, rocket launcher to help your teammates in the area?

im not sure it will be as simple as build a radar… id say that these will be the objectives in the maps and constructions will prob be limited to base areas or something like that

if a radar was built in the far corner of the map to keep it out of the way then player break of to get it and ruins the sweet spot idea

I though i read somewhere that elements of the command map will pop up in game, partly to help new players to know where to go. Sounded like a great idea to me, espically when custom mpas come down the line…

I also read somewhere that you’ll find out ALL this information from all these useless QW posts when the game is released.

SD will make it great, and tehy think about it. But this is so good to post these useless post because:

  1. Other ppl read it and see it like the game to have, it can’t be better
  2. Killing time till ET:QW is released :stuck_out_tongue:

Why don’t you play ET until ET is released??
 :moo:

(ParanoiD) #10

I do, but this is another way to kill time :stuck_out_tongue:

Why don’t you play ET until ET is released??
 :moo: [/quote]

Because it’s impossible, silly. You can’t play a game which is hasn’t been released yet. By definition.

Some of us can :lookaround:
