sci fi rules and htat totally looks like black hawk down, jsut a little “futury”

it looks nice, more realistic then ET, with the textures and all. can’t wait.

All he did was cut out the characters from the actual ET:QW screenshot and slap them on a BF2 screen.

I knew i should’ve used more exclamation marks in the 1st post. It was never meant to fool anyone, it was meant as a joke /me points and laughs at everyone that believed it. I also take offence at “shoddy photoshopped screenshot”, was the best i could be arsed doing at 1:30am :frowning:

BF2 isnt bad it just needs a few good patches to clean it up. But i must admit im luvin ET:QW more than anything so far. Cant wait to ither get a job at SD and work on it or buy it.

Yea bf2 is great if you like vehicle sims and have enough drugs to keep you calm.

The unfortunate thing is that since it reflects reality, there is no paper/rock/scissors functionality. For instance, nothing stops a 14 yo master pilot with a brand new joystick.
Exept for a 13 yo master pilot with a brand new joystick.

With that said, this game can be fun:
If your idea of fun is being shot in the back because you were getting into something that someone else considers his/her own property. Like choppers and such.
If getting kicked from servers -because 3 people in a jeep ram into yours and die, and consequently files a complaint by default because it was your fault- isnt your thing you can always join another server and do the following:
Run. Yep, you can run for miles. Especially since everyone else has taken the vehicles and you ended up in the middle of nowhere.
Thankfully (!) the brilliant idea that people want bigger maps that (consumes more memory) makes sure you have the space you need for your running!
Just make sure the snails don’t run you over while you tap “sprint”, and you’ll have more fun than waiting with 5 others on a carrier for a vehicle to spawn so you can get the hell out of there.

The most fun thing of all though, by far, is when your teams last spawn is being raped.
Since DICE(the makers of bf2) decided to go with the 1720-ish style of making pc games and NOT give spawning players limited invunerability, you can now spawn over and over again at the same spot and into the crosshair of the same tank!
Thats enough fun to last you a while isnt it?!

There are also other small features that will add to the fun, like this nifty thing:
Say you know there’s 3 enemies around the corner. You decide to lob a grenade, but just as you’re about to change weapon an enemy appears right in front of you!
So you make a quick change to your assault rifle to spray his face with lead.
And this is where dice truly shines. They’ve made it so that once you press your assault rifle again, your firing mode is changed. Surprize!
You now have to dodge a hail of bullet while trying to shoot the guy in single shot mode!

I know that some of these incredibly fun features exist only because of the great community of bf2 and its friendly atmosphere. But one must mention the effort that the developers have made to incourage this kind of fun behaviour.

I believe their is one, at least Im sure I saw a few in the trailer, including one blowing apart.

i cant see there not being a humvee, from what i saw the “bad guys” have lots of cool little vehicles, the least they can do is give us a humvee!!
oh and darkangel … way to much time on ur hands :wink: lol
