Is the server query protocol in et:qw going to report player scores, unlike other games based on the doom3 engine. Quake 4 does currently not report player scores to server browsers which is a pity for web-based server lists and irc scorebots etc.
[et:qw]: query protocol - player scores?
I was under the impression that QW would have permanent online rankings (NOT XP). I am guessing that the servers will have to be able to transmit the information to a master server. Maybe the scorebots could use that data as well?
An interview.
[edit] And this text, which can be found on lots of websites
With bitterly contested multi-battle campaigns, each soldier fights not only for victory, but to gain valuable skills, special rewards for team-play, and persistent military promotions and medals.

I want to know this too. We plan to support ET:QW with splatterladder, but w/o a nice ranking (for which we need XP to be reported) its only the half fun, since we would only have the buddy tracker resp. the clan/server/player directories and no rankings.
I brought this up before in another post. I’ve been wondering this as well. Ideally we would like to be able to access some sort of web syndicate of the player stats recorded in game. Our league is going to allow validation of league specific battles among registered clans but I would also like to translate whatever is being reported to the new ranking system into our points based system for each member as well.
The number of deaths, kills, objectives met, etc… All good information to award points to players. Will each player have an ID number in game or will they recognized by their nick only? I think nick only isn’t a great idea and I would like to see each player assigned a unique ID number (with a login/password) like Tribes2 did.
I’d love to see some sort of documentation on the protocol to start building any persistant stats into my applications.
www.enemyterritory.com? look under the community section, it says “Leaderboards,…,Stats,…”
So thats the fool! Damn fool giving out information on games. Damn you! Damn you all to hell!
You’re talking about different things. Procyon asked about query parameters of live matches that include player score - this is used on query clients like ASE to list the players on the servers and its score. For example, quake 3 had it. It’s not related to stat recording or anything like that.
Procyon: even if ETQW doesn’t have it, I can bet that any ‘pro’ mod that comes later would add it. It’s like OSP did on Q3: it added a plethora of information on the query response thar reported the kind of match being played, the teams and so on, so it could be used by scorebots. That’s why I think it’s not that difficult to mod that into the game later.

This page gives the impression that you’ll have a persistent username similar to BF2, I’d assume that it’s for some kind of global stats tracking:
I seriously doubt it will, although I think it would be fantastic as an “anti-asshat” measure.
I hope it reports K:Kd ratio so SplatterLadder will have meaning (that’s not a jab at Ragnar_40k, he’s working with what he’s got).
I don’t see anything wrong with requiring a username/password/email tied to your cd key. The only thing that bothers me is systems like BF2s where you can’t play (even single player!) if the account server is down. In the past, id has taken the approach of letting people play if the auth server is unreachable. Sure, a few people exploit this for cracked servers, but that’s gonna happen anyway.
