After the games released I can see that releasing two campaigns (6 Maps) as exp packs will happen. In fact I welcome it.
Also possibly with the ability to add new classes and vechiles.
I see this as being planned from the beginning if you look how the games design with campaigns in mind the new campagins will support the new classes and the old ones wont. Meaning the games modular in design.
Anyone elses thoughts? Dev’s no need to say anything.
SD people said in interview campaings are typically 3 map long.
I think long 6 maps campaigns are opposite to what SD are trying to accomplish. The whole idea of xp system is to reward and encourage players useful for team. That’s right, usefulness to team, not just patience.Typical campaign is 3 map long because they want scores to reset quite often. You can increase exp requirements for levels, but it doesn’t help much. It degenerates into some kind of mmorpg where you have to play over and over for 10 hours and more.
EA/Dice completely missed the point with exp. Betafield 2142 will have 4 classes, and each of them evolves to one of 2 different classes on leveup. This esentially requires you to gain experience to get new abilities. This encourages exp whoring rather than helping your team. XP rewards in W:ET are generally not gamebreaking, with exception of Field Op endless spam, and perhaps faster panzerfaust.
in an interview did they not say that there are 12 maps in prduction but some may be added and pulled out but in ET its clear from the campain map that there are three areas set up for campains but only two. by the looks they only finished 6 maps from all of thoes intended from the paid version
i would expect to see more since with QW they have more time and money to spend on the project
as for exansion packs. i would suport them on the grounds that they truly are expansion packs. As long as SD puts all the effort and time and reasles everyhting on the first realses then starts working on more maps etc and releases a pack a year later then good
if they finish tha game and then decide to reases the game and half the maps now then charge for another expansion to get the rest a few months later then thats just kinda p*ssing on your fanbase. kinda like the BF expansion stuff
oh and game owners should not have to buy expansion packs to get bugfixes if they buy a game and chose not to expand then they still should get suport!
Man can you read? two campaigns 6 maps. Lets do todays maths for dummies 101
6 divided by 2 is 3
So campagins are 3 maps long.
Glad that was cleared up.
As for exps Im not suggesting EXPeriance Im suggestion EXPANSIONS.
So adding extra classes to add other campaigns with added extras with these classes in mind. Extra maps to add more campaigns to allow the game to increase its sales makes more common business sense.
Maps are a givin, as a extra vechiles, but I admit extra classes are more unlikely to happen.
I think SplashDamage will support their own game by releasing map packs and updates for free, this statement is not supported by anything tho, but I believe SplashDamage will take care of their community…
If ET:QW is going to be a clan game, then it need to have good maps and clases from the begining and no “musthave” expantions. Expantions just suck, free content later ftw. I gladly pay a little ekstra first time i buy, but not later. I like to know how much a game costs!. Not like in bf2 that the 3 best maps created costs money and cant be used in clan gameing.
