[et:qw] in german print magazines

(Joe999) #41

don’t you think you ruin the flair of the image with that big ugly writing in it? not even the pages where you take those pictures from have such large letters

(zeh) #42

No shit. Specially because it’s just copied from Gamespy’s new ‘exclusive’ screenshot. The tagging on etqw.at images seem to be to avoid people ripping of your work, but that’s just what you’re doing yourself. The site is good for news on etqw media and whatnot, but this is getting a bit ridiculous, specially with the big watermark.

(etqw.at) #43

I write here never again, then all your problems are solved… good bye…

(Joe999) #44

dude, you better learn to deal with constructive critics

your site is pretty good, but what you are doing with the images is ridiculous. the site name is ok with me if you host the pictures (of course i don’t consider the site where you got the image from), but it should be not so prominent. a small-sized logo on the bottom right would do as well. the way you are doing it currently looks like you are posting an ETQW.AT screenshot with an image in the background.

awesome, the german magazine pc-action provided the et:qw and the prey article of issue 02/2006 with friendly permission to german website doom3maps.org. you can download the articles which have very good image quality from here:

Finally.
I’m fed up with people who post links to articles assuming everyone understands German(ish) language.

(Joe999) #47

well, in that case don’t click on the link i posted above. guess what, it’s german as well. imo a non english article is better than nothing, actually there are people unlike you who speak more than one language … and by the way, the forum topic says Article in german PC-Action. why do you even look into this topic if you are fed up with people who write in here? :bash:

(B0rsuk) #48

(RosOne) #49

Ohh, so the problem is you’re disappointed that you didn’t understand it and you’d like to limit the posted links to only those which you understand? Pretty ignorant, don’t you think? I assume an interview or article in polish would be ok?

(Sauron|EFG) #50

There’s a huge difference between posting in non-english and posting a link to a non-english language site. For one thing Locki did encourage linking previews and interviews (although in another thread), and we can always look at the pictures. :nag:

(Salteh) #51

Feel free to post links to non-english articles.
Please don’t post using non-english languages.

Thank you .

And it doesn’t make much sense to complain about people posting links to german etqw articles in the “Article in GERMAN pc-action” thread :nag:

@ all
here the two new screenshots in better quality:

(and with a “very small” ETQW.AT logo) :drink:

(Joe999) #55

(Shanks) #56

It’s obviously:

LERN YE TWO REED!

(zeh) #57

Thank you very much.

The last of the great German game magazines PowerPlay now also has a very short preview (1 side, no new images).

(nUllSkillZ) #59

This months PC-Action has one side with recently in the internet published phots.
So nothing new here.
The release date in an overview of PC-Games is dated of september of 2006.
In PC-Gamestar it’s the third quarter of 2006.

A little note:
In the PC-Games list is also a release “date” for RTCW2: 2006
Not sure where they get the release date informations from.

Edit:

I’ve edited the title of the thread.

There’s an 8 side preview in the german edition of the edge magazine (didn’t know this magazine before - saw it in an advertising in another game magazine).
Nothing new but well written.
Not sure if this is a translation of may be an english edge version (if this exists).
