News flash, you are the minority here.

for every person posting on this board, there are a dozen others who don’t. The fact of the matter is, people like to see progress. Stats adding up over the course of a year or so, while not the main reason to play, is a decent feature.

removing a statpage isn’t going to force people into playing how you want them to play.

In any FPS, people like to kill other people, and hate to die. No arbitrary lack of a statpage or scoreboard is going to change it.

Actualy it will. At the very least it will prevent stats whoring and thats more than enough for me.

Or do we really need to start listing reasons why permanent global satats are a bad thing again?

Yes, please do.
So far, pretty much all stats I heard of tracked simple things like kills and death. Stats can be more advanced, you know. You can track revives, objectives destroyed, dynamites disarmed, spawns captured, how many times you were on the winning team for min(duration of the match, 10 minutes) without switching teams, opponents killed by turrets you repaired, and so on.
I don’t see how giving points for such things can be a bad idea. The rest is balancing so that certain actions give more than others. The most trivial example is repairing the tank vs planting dynamite at tank barrier. On Gold Rush you should get very little xp for repairing a tank if the barrier is not destroyed yet.
Another example of what could use some tweaking is disguising. Why should you get 5 xp for disguising yourself, if often it doesn’t serve any purpose, you get immediately recognized and killed, or even teamkilled. It encourages covops to waste time disguising when he could instead help his teammates against enemies in direct combat.
I say remove 5xp reward for disguising altogether, and introduce a reward for killing while disguised.

It’s just that (to my knowledge) no one tried doing more complex stats.
