ET:QW accepting clans for closed beta??

I’d like to work together with clans to help optimize the weaponbalance and other gameplay aspects.
I found out this is way more effective, as most players don’t know what exactly they want different, they can only point out the problem and guess what is causing it,
but I can help to analyze the problem and find a solution without the need of the developers expensive time.
I could create small mods to test changes with the clans and see if they work out the way the players wanted them and then send you the suggestions then.

I can imagine that this works out great for mods, but I can imagine that SD can’t risk to hand out their source. And it’s not too sure if the weapon data is still saved in external files like Doom 3.

The closed beta signup is legit. I personally spoke with Activision and verified it to be true. So go ahead and sign up your clans.

I don’t need the source, the .def files (which do exist) are enough.
besides, I can be trusted, ask Syncerror, I have worked together with him for a long time now and have received pre-releases of modsources for quake4 patches, and I never even released a single word about the game or the source.

I would think about seeing which clans get accepted before jumping into a clan, as I am sure they wont accept all applications for clans trying to get into the beta.

THQ are the publishers for STALKER and sent all members of our community BETA keys for testing.

It’s all true, as reported elsewhere we’re accepting applications from clans to join the ET:QW closed beta… It’s an Activision email address, because Activision are our publisher.

I’ll post it on the frontpage of splashdamage.com as soon as the webserver starts working properly again.

Just send an email, it doesn’t hurt to try… however, I have no clan and my actual comp would probably run ET:QW only in wireframe mode.

I think its closed now, they apparently got over 17000 e-mails from that announcement. They took the thread off that Total QW site already. Talk about building a mailing list, damn…

That would be 17000 people/emails, not 17000 clans. As we can see in this thread, a lot of people sent an email ‘anyway’. Kinda defeats the whole purpose though.
