Is anyone else other than me starting to get really annoyed by the “it’s done when it’s done” motto?

Is it because they really don’t have a clue when they will be able to finish the complete game as it is riddled with bugs? Is it because ID have become arrogant towards it’s fan base? Or is it because they don’t want another massive slip? Lets not forget this game is almost a year late.

A beta in mid April I’ve read on Gamespy, I won’t hold my breath. I’m concerned that by the time this game comes out, it’s gonna be out dated quickly by the likes of UT3 or TF2 and the masses will move onto the next big thing leaving servers empty :frowning:

Splash and ID need to get something moving quick, like new trailers, screen shots and a BETA or DEMO!! Sure this game will be king when it’s released, but for how long if they hold out much longer?

Not me. I’d rather have the game when it’s done, rather than at some arbitrary deadline set by marketing types (cough bf cough).

Software development schedules tend to be unpredictable.

“when it’s done” has been id’s normal policy for many, many years. They have the luxury of doing whats right for their customers, rather than releasing half finished garbage.

Im getting to think that the beta release info was just alot of B.S. I really dont think the game will be out till Christmas. It would not suprise me. I wish Paul W. would eaither S!!! or get off the pot :lol:

I would say the game will be out some time june (summer)…

And no beta will be released, but instead a demo around early/mid may…

Well, i think we can almost confirm a june release date…

ESRB officially gave this game Teen rating, and i think they only rate the final product. And as the interview stated, a demo will come couple weeks before the game…so suspect something early-min next month!
