ET OpenGL driver crashs after a while

(Search&Destroy) #1

Hi,

I’d like to play a little bit W:ET again, but I’ve got some troubles.
Sometimes while playing W:ET it starts to jerk for about 3-5 sec - after that, I can play for another 3-5 sec but then I got a crash.
My display driver is resetting (popup “display driver stopped responding and has recovered”) and I get that error:

I always start the game as admin and I’m using the compatibility mode with Windows XP SP2.
I also tried to switch the compatibility mode off and compatibility mode Win XP SP3 - but this does not work.
I did not install it to C:\Program Files\ - I installed it to C:\Program Files (x86)\

My Hardware:
Windows 7 64 Bit
CPU:AMD Phenom II 940 Black Edition
Mainboard: Gigabyte MA790GP-DS4H
RAM: 4x 1GB Aeneon AXT760UD00-19DC97X
Graphic: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 275 @ 260.99 Driver
Sound: ASUS Xonar D2X

Any ideas?

have you tried reinstalling video drivers

(Search&Destroy) #3

Yes I did.
First I had 260.89 installed, but had that crashes and so I installed 260.99.

I used Driver Cleaner.NET before I installed 260.99 to keep it ‘clean’

No ideas?
Maybe I have to change some settings in cfg?

I don’t start the game as admin and I don’t use any compatibility modes.

Have you tried googling the error?
But as Nail said sounds more like a driver issue then an issue with the game. But unfortunately if updating the drivers didn’t help then I don’t know an immediate solution.

this driver 260.99 from nvidia in my computer not work so good, i had problems in window scaling and refresh rate of my monitor with this graphic drviver.
Try use the 260.63 drivers and when you istall it select the opition to do a clean installation, this will delete the old profiles and the files missing from old drivers, i recommend you get the driver sweeper and use it to clean your previous graphic drivers too before instll a new one.
After you installed the drivers disable treath optimization in the profile tab in your nvidia control pannel.

Thx for ur answer - I will try it as soon as possible.
