If you have set the command line wrong, the logfile stays empty. I am not sure if is not even created.

There at “Ziel” where it says “+set com_hunkmegs 512” , must be “+set logfile 1” .
The line “Ziel” is “Target” in english… Menu should be same in all languages at least from layout.
Then be sure to start the game with that shortcut.

Maybe there is something more wrong, be sure to have Administrator rights in your windows Xp3 -
even though I am not aware if that is needed, I think I always played with Admin rights under XP.
Yet you might have only User rights. Or not the proper rights on the enemy-territory folder.

Something else you can try:
Move your c:\programmi\wolfenstein - Enemy territories\ folder to c:\backupwolfenstein.
So you have a backup, if you want no backup - delete it.
And then install the game new, as advised in some posts here.
(Uninstall the game, does only remove the files which had been installed, not any additional files.)

ok. Uninstalled and reinstalled the game.

Try to launch from command windows.

None. Same result. et don’t work and logfile empty

and what does you cmd window show? when you start et from there?
I guess that what you posted already, if thats the case - can’t help.
Fix your windows…

have you tried starting other games?

if they show the same problem as ET, it could be your power supply.
( too low power output or fluctuating too much when game starts)

Or a driver problem, have you installed your graphicscard driver with antivirus suspended/ switched off ?
( sometimes some AV progs interfere with these driver installs.)

Check if all hardware is installed properly (with windows hardwaremanager).
If you see a yellow “!” somewhere it is not (/properly) installed.
Especially mainboard,nic (network interface card), sound-card/chip, and graphics drivers.

This is the only game that don’t work.
I can play at war rock, combat arms and other game but ET don’t work.
Direct x are ok.

I have played at et for about 2 years, but the last june et have finish to run.
I don’t know why.

My antivirus is avast.

you installed another graphixs driver?
or some other driver?
maybe try another grapihix driver

I just noticed all your installs are not in the “standard” Program Files folder.

Try installing it in C:\Program Files\Wolfenstein - Enemy Territory maybe this will help.

and :

check if hardware acceleration has been disabled:

  • Right-click somewhere on the desktop (not on an icon).
  • Select Properties.
  • Select the Settings tab.
  • Select Advanced.
  • Select the Troubleshooting tab.
  • Move the Hardware Acceleration marker to Full.
  • Select Apply.
  • Close all windows and retry.

Also go to: start/run/dxdiag and see if all the tests report ok.

lol what did you change since you stopped playing in june?
It is most certainly not ‘nothing’ otherwise your pc would be the same and there would be no reason for it not to work.
Try and think what might have caused this.
Or maybe you just filled you pc with so much stuff that you don’t have enough RAM or so, have you just tried looking under taskmanager etc… and see what happens when you start the game up?

I am SOO new at this and as frar as I know I have completed all proper steps… DL Win Game: Wolfenstein ET, DL’d Patchs 1 and 2… Unzipped Files from Patchs 1 and 2… scanned all with virus protection prior to auth’ing anything. still no gameplay. frustrated… everthing points to correct. OS WINXP. ONLY ISSUE coud be that I am on a netbook but so far the issues have been screen resolution… I don’t think this is my issue for gameplay. please help if you can.

Upload your ET.exe here.
The checksum should be 5f12f1718a84b8fc45aaee609cfc9c43 or something went wrong.
If you are experiencing PB related problems, update your software with PBSetup.
At last, we are not wizards - give us some error messages that you see.
