ET not work

:stroggtapir: Hi.
I have a great problem.
I have installed ET 1.6 but dont work.
When I click on ET Icon, the program start, but after max 5 second quit witgout error message.
I have Windows XP SP3.
Help me please.

Do you mean ET:QW?
Or W:ET?
I guess it’s ET:QW - Enemy Territory: Quake Wars.

And I guess you have ET 2.60 installed instead of 1.6? Because 1.6 doesn’t exist.

What graphicscard do you have?

Sorry. Yes. 2.60
last release downloaded now.
About 2 month ago, ET work good.

I have Athlon 3 GHz with 3GByte ram, Radeon 9600 graphic card.
I don’t remember, mayby after one windows update, ET has finished to work.

et turns off after you join a server?
maybe firewall blocks punkbuster?

Is W:ET returning to Desktop?
There must be some kind of error message.
If it’s still open but not connected you should open console.
If I remember correct console can be opened with ESC in Windows.

Yes, ET will return at the desktop.
No I don’t see any error message.
Impossible open the consol because ET is close.
Windows firewall have ET in Exceptions list.

I have downloaded patch 2.60b.
There are 2 files ET.exe and ETDED.exe.
ETDED open the ET console.

You have to run ET.exe.
ETDED.exe is the dedicated server executable which only opens a console.

I have uninstalled all.

I have downloaded at this address “http://www.splashdamage.com/content/wolfenstein-enemy-territory-barracks” the 3 file for Windows.
Reinstalled all but don’t work.
The problem is the same.

What if you run it without visualisations (rightclick et.exe > proportions > compitable > check a few boxes)?

Are you sure you installed the patch right? Because in this list I don’t see pak1.pk3 and pak2.pk3.

use this installer http://ftp.freenet.de/pub/4players/hosted/et/Nail/et-2.60b-win32.exe and then update punkbuster from here

The problem is the same.

The game quit without error message. :frowning:
